About this listen

Patricia Fisher is trying to settle into village life, but the dead don’t won’t let her be. She’s a PI and used to investigating murder, but her latest case is just...well, it’s spooky.

What started as a missing person case goes south fast when a body is found in the woods marked with pagan symbols. It’s her client’s son-in-law, but the daughter is still out there, and a chance encounter with another investigator, none other than famed paranormal investigator Tempest Michaels, sets Patricia on a path of paranormal discovery and starts a race against time to save the missing woman.

The pagan symbols point to a hidden cult and the dread suspicion that they plan to sacrifice her client’s daughter at midnight on Orion’s solstice. And that’s tomorrow night! While the police chase false clues, Patricia’s super team follow the breadcrumbs, but they soon discover this case is far bigger than they thought. As they glimpse the truth, and her friends start to go missing, Patricia realizes she had come too far to stop now.

This humorous cozy mystery contains no cussing and no graphic descriptions of violence or sex.

The only thing that I didn’t like was the reader. I loved the reader from the Cruise Mysteries.

A new love interest.

I enjoyed the storyline of this first Patricia Fisher mystery. The author involves characters that I am familiar with - Tempest Michaels, Big Ben and Frank from the bookstore. Patricia is an interesting character. The cult that she and Tempest faced sounded rather alarming.
I had to pace myself with this audiobook because the narrator's voice was at a pitch that grated on my nerves. I got a bit more used to it as time went on, but overall Patricia's voice was higher pitched than was pleasant for my ears. You may like it just fine.

The narrators voice grated

Patricia is back home and once again tossed head first into a mystery with a murder or two or three. A body has been found in the woods of a man whose father in law has hired Patricia to find. The man's wife is still missing. When she arrives at the scene of the body she's met by the detective who helps her out. There she meets Tempest who specializes in paranormal cases. So the two team up and with her speciality in finding trouble and Tempest's in fixing trouble they make a spectacular team along with their sidekicks!!
Maryanne M. Wells is a phenomenal narrator as she brings this audio to life!!

Patricia and Tempest and gangs joined forces in this mystery. Good blending of characters, enjoyable mystery and an enjoyable read.

the story is excellent, well crafted. the narrators accent was just wrong and listening to the book became a job so I could see what happened next. I won't listen to other books narrated by Wells.

Miss Fishers voice was grating.

The narrators falsetto voice and fake (?) British accent made this audiobook painful! The book in print might be acceptable but NOT the audiobook!

Narrator difficult to listen to

The high pitch of the narrarator is hard to take and not at all the Patricia Fisher voice in the first books aboard the ship. Not sure I can even continue listen to the book.

Book was good but...

Good story, but dear heaven, absolutely the most appalling narrator I have ever had the misfortune to have to listen to. Stay away!

Worst narrator ever

I couldn’t enjoy the narration, didn’t get past Chapter 1, so can’t comment on the story.

Disappointing
