I never imagined I’d agree to an arranged marriage for over 5 million dollars.

Not to mention that the man I’d be marrying is someone I’d already met once before.

Gage Kingston waltzes into the meeting with the lawyer unaffected—cocky, tattooed, and acting like he didn’t know who I was.

But after we agree we’d be stupid to walk away from that kind of money, we embark on a six month timeline to riches despite the animosity between us.

Now I’m living with the man his aunt thought would be perfect for me while wondering if the woman was going insane before she died to think this was a good idea.

Then the first letter came.

Turns out Diane had a plan to get us to fall for each other while trying to make our marriage work.

Arguments turn to meaningful conversations.

Innocent brushes turn to lust-filled challenges.

And before I know it, we’re crossing every line we drew in the sand.

Did Diane somehow know that we were meant for each other before we figure it out for ourselves? Or was jumping into a marriage with a man I barely knew one of the worst mistakes of my life?

This series has been so special. Full of amazing characters, real life situations and beautiful HEA’s. I love Harlow’s books and know I will laugh, cry and have all the feels while reading/listening to her stories. Amazing tropes - small town, forced marriage and slow burn. Hazel and Gage are put into a crazy situation by his aunt. They both are conflicted, fight their feelings and their banter is off the charts. However, as they spend time together the feelings start to change and when they give in…holy wow!! Harlow knows how to write the spice. You will also laugh your face off at many of the scenes…the $ex shop may be my favorite! I love how they bring out the best in one another, work through their feelings/concerns and become one another’s person. Erin Mallon and Brandon Francis deliver an fantatic listening experience. I’ve listened to many books narrated by Erin and I just love her voice, personality and the emotion she gives to each character. Brandon is a new to me narrator and I enjoyed his style and voice. He brought perfect personality, voice and emotion to each of the characters. An amazing listen! I’m sad to see this series end but exited for the next one!

When I saw Harlow at the HEA book signing earlier this month she told me I was going to love this book, and she was not wrong. The way she wrote this one, the choices she made were practically perfect.

After a loss both of them shared, Hazel and Gage are made an offer that they really couldn’t refuse, so they don’t. And what comes next is an emotional roller coaster filled with all the good stuff that is going to make you feel all the things you have come to expect from a story of Harlow’s.

This is the final book in this series and I’m going to miss this world and this family. The family loyalty runs strong here and that’s just part of why I love it so much. Do not miss out on this, start with book one and read them all, it’s going to be the best decision you will ever make!

What a perfect wrap up to this amazing series!

Book #5 Carrington Cove Series
Interconnected standalone

This was a great listen. I really enjoyed Harlow James Writing style. It was fun and easy to follow. This had good emotional depth and funny moments. Meddling family members is always an interesting twist.

Gage is a grumpy tattoo artist who has sworn of love because of his condition. A chance meeting with Hazel and Gage that Hazel keeps thinking about even months later, she never expected him to show up at the reading of her friends will. Gage's aunt has passed away and left some very specific instructions for these two to get her estate. After years of trying to get these two to meet and date Diane made her will up with a last attempt to get these two together. Somehow she just knew they would be something together.

It was a pleasure reading and listening to Hazel and Gage's love story and journey to their HEA.

Really good

What an amazing ending to a beautiful series.I was lucky to both read and listen to the book. The narration was perfect and truly gave life to these characters. Hazel and Gage have sworn off love or relationships , both for different reasons. When one meddling lady pushes them together with a sneaky way of getting the two people she loves both to fall in love. Harlow James has an amazing way of writing characters that are so realistic with words that are emotional and relationships that are heartfelt and have strong connections. Hazel and Gage go above and beyond to not give into their attraction while the chemistry is felt off the pages. While Hazel seems more enticed to give into her feelings Gage is still struggling with secrets he is keeping. My heart went out to both of them while they found their way and dealt with situations that were hard. The story was a perfect way to end a series that will have your heart from the first book. I was given this book as an ARC and ALC for my honest review,

The 5th and final Carrington Cove book. You can read it alone, but the emotional reward is so much better if you read in sequence.

Hazel and Gage's relationship was so wonderfully orchestrated. The way they entered their arranged marriage of convenience, even though the rules kept changing. They learned about each other, found ways to co-exist and became vulnerable to each other. But there were still elements missing that were revealed and changed everything.

The mystery and secrets that took a long time to reveal was so well done. I kept finding pieces of the puzzle but had no idea how they all fit together. It brought the series full circle for me since it reminded me so much of the secrets and puzzles from book 1.

The audiobook for this one was performed by Erin Mallon and Brandon Francis. They did a great job bringing Hazel and Gage to life. Both a little jaded and cautious having written off a happily ever after for their own reasons. Erin's timing in the storytelling comedy of Hazel's dating life was perfection. I was chuckling and gasping. But the vulnerability when discussing her dad and what hummingbirds mean to her, it was raw and emotional. Brandon's performance for Gage was smooth and melty, he was considerate and protective even when he wanted to keep his distance, outraged on Hazel's behalf but then fitting in with the guys and their banter. I loved listening to this story.

I requested and was provided with an advanced copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.

This was such a great end to this fantastic series. And we're ending with a marriage of convenience?! YES! Sweet Hazel and her hopeless romantic heart. I'm so glad she got her happily ever after. Gage & Hazel embark on their marriage on convenience so that they can end up with a huge sum of money that was left to them after someone they loved passed away. But living together proved to be a challenge when feelings starting being involved. The banter between these two was perfect and once that spice started... whew!

This book had me feeling all the emotions! I was laughing, swooning, and wanting to cry. Gosh! I have loved every minute of Carrington Cove and I am so sad that it's over! I'm going to miss the Sheppard family.

🎧Audio:🎧
This was a dual narration by Brandon Francis and Erin Mallon. Brandon was new to me and I really enjoyed him! His voice was captivating and there could not of been a better person to voice Gage! Erin was great too! She played the sassy Hazel perfectly. I really enjoyed this duo!

Harlow James delivers a heartwarming and emotionally charged romance in Somehow You Knew—a story that blends fate, grief, and second chances with just the right amount of spice and heart.

The story follows Hazel, a disillusioned woman who has all but given up on love. Her closest bond is with Diane, an older woman she regularly visits and does photography work for. Diane, battling COPD, often insists Hazel would be a perfect match for her nephew, Gage—but Hazel, jaded by past heartbreak, isn’t interested.

Then a chance encounter at a coffee shop shakes Hazel’s guarded heart. A mysterious man leaves her with butterflies… but no name. After Diane’s passing, that same man shows up at the will reading—he’s Gage. The twist? Diane has left her $10 million estate to be split between Hazel and Gage, but only if they get married and stay married for at least six months.

What follows is an arranged marriage full of tension, secrets, slow-burning chemistry, and emotional growth. I loved the pacing of the story—it flowed naturally —and Harlow James’ writing style is engaging, heartfelt, and easy to get swept up in.

The narration by Erin Mallon and Brandon Francis was equally fantastic—both emotive and immersive, adding real depth to Hazel and Gage’s journey.

If you enjoy forced proximity, fated meetings, and watching love unfold in the most unexpected ways, this audiobook is absolutely worth a listen.

Well, that was emotional … *blink* Every story in this series has been emotional in its own special way, so I wasn’t not prepared for it, but Somehow You Knew was emotional in every way. Like even the lighthearted points were emotional. I don’t quite know how to explain it, and maybe I was just in a mood LOL, but it all made me feel something. My heart was at play throughout the entire story, and it was just so uplifting even when I cried like a baby!

I got to listen to the ALC narrated by Erin Mallon and Brandon Francis and I was truly transfixed by their performance. I began listening to this audio on my drive home from work and when I got home, I realized this was the kind of story that was going to need my full brain. That wasn’t just because the story itself had so many “nooks and crannies” (if that makes sense), but because Erin and Brandon’s performances were so intune with their characters and the story that they made me want to “stop and listen” and do nothing else. And so, I did, and it was just *happy sigh* (with a whole lot of tears)! I’ve known Erin’s power as a narrator for years, but Brandon, I just met, and I can’t wait to get to him better!

Harlow James continues to impress me with her thought-provoking, realistic-fiction, heartfelt storylines that are well thought out and developed with characters you want to be in your real life. She’s an author that has impressed me from the very first story I experienced by her, and I cannot wait to get lost in her worlds for years to come!

Such a fun conclusion to this delightful series!
Gage and Hazels Marriage of convenience put into motion by his Aunt and her father from beyond the grave was so much fun. I loved how they built their relationship before things turned physical and the way they learned to communicate with each other.
And the voice narrators absolutely brought the characters to life in the best way! Fantastic performances. Such a wonderful audiobook!

Vibes: marriage/ getting to know you, health scares, tattoos and piercings, dates and family dinners, hummingbirds

I adore Gage and Hazel! They are the sweetest couple that I truly fell in love with. Even though it was a forced marriage they fought through their differences and let fate take over. When love is meant to be it will happen. Each of them had so many insecurities and fears but at the same time they had RED HOT chemistry Soooo goood!!!!

Harlow James this one is my favorite!! This one was so heartfelt and brought all the tears. Also, choosing Erin Mallon and Brandon Francis to tell us this story * Chef's Kiss ! They were an excellent choice!

"Then why did you do it?” I place a hand on the center of my chest. “I’ve been going out of my mind trying to understand you, Gage. Because everything that you just said? I feel that too.” “Because I was scared, Hazel. Scared of falling for you and hurting you, or losing you, or doing anything to f**k things up. I don’t know what the future holds and—” I hold up a hand to stop him. “No one does, Gage. So why don’t we forget about the timelines and deadlines, just take it one day at a time?”

Beautiful Beautiful Love Story !
