Publisher's summary

Psychic Emory Jackson and former black ops specialist, Jonathon Silver, are men from two completely different worlds with one thing in common: heartbreak.

Emory still mourns the loss of his husband five years prior, and Jon is reeling with grief from the recent death of his twin brother. Sparks fly when mutual friends introduce them, but it's so much more than basic attraction. There's an undeniable awareness and a sense of belonging that neither man can deny. Despite Emory's premonition of a future with Jon, he has vowed never to love again.

Jon is convinced that his tainted soul is the reason he will never have someone to call his own. What if they're both wrong? Maybe these broken men with their jagged edges could somehow align perfectly to form something whole and beautiful. But will that realization come too late for them?

Contains mature themes.

Loved it

I'm not a big fan of previous books I've read from this author but I absolutely loved the main characters especially Jon. And I laughed out loud many times.

love it

Love this story. I've now listened to it three times. I will always look for any book that Joel Leslie narrates. He is the best. Add into that Aimee
Nichole 's writing and it is again perfect.

What is stronger than the human heart

which shatters over and over and still lives ~Rupi Kaur~
I love Emory & Jon. This was an amazing slow burn romance. The story has so much depth and emotion. It was captivating and took me on an emotional rollarcoaster ride with all the turmoil both of them had to go through. Their love when it got to it was beautiful and most of all believable! I can't wait to listen to the rest of the series. Phenomenal 🥰💖🥰

Laughs, love and sexiness

This series is amazing and this book in particular had me feeling everything there is to feel. I loved Emory and Jonathan, I cried for their pain and I celebrated their victories. Joel Leslie delivers this story with the finesse of an artist! It almost like he is one of the characters relaying the story. Amazing, as always!

Touching

I was surprised. The narrator was slow speaking and after a couple of minutes I was ready to delete the book, but I was playing a game and listening and didn't feel like setting up a new book so I decided to continue on. I'm glad I stuck with it, because the narrator had what I considered a cajun accent that touched my heart. Then I got into it. Maybe I was in the mood to cry because this book made me cry several times. Love is love...pass it on.

Great book but...

I am a huge fan of Joel Leslie but I was not a fan of his portrayal of Jonathan Silver. I the ‘Curl Up and Die’ series it mentions Jonathan only showed up in Louisiana 2 years ago. His accent seems too thick to not have lived in Louisiana for very long. I lived in New Orleans for more than 10 years and know people who’ve lived there longer and we don’t have accents that thick. He sounds like a Cajun black man friends m deep in the swamp but that’s not who the cover portrays. Other than that I did enjoy the book. It was nice to finally hear their story.
