About this listen

Nothing in this world is permanent. Friends, lovers, even family can all disappear in the blink of an eye. Without these anchors, it's all too easy to find oneself drifting.

Jason Grant doesn't have much, aside from a beat-up old guitar and knack for getting kicked out of foster homes. His latest placement is set to be just another in a long line of failures. Then he meets Caesar Hubbard, a handsome guy who lives down the hall. For the first time in his life, Jason wants to stay, which means learning to be part of a family, and not letting his feelings - or his actions - ruin his first real chance of falling in love.

Something Like Spring introduces a new character to the Seasons story, one with a troubled past and an equally turbulent future. Jason must traverse a winding road fraught with emotional conflicts and tough decisions - a road that might just lead to a certain couple in Austin.

Bell is an amazing story teller

In a way I am glad I waited so long to try these books from the continued series. Now I binge listen. I love how Jay connects all the characters in a way that makes me smile. As a 30 something year old women, who read the original something like book 10 years ago. I’m a fan!

I cried

The way this one was written, I was so invested. My bestie went through the foster system and so I was drawn in from the beginning. The highs and lows felt so real. At the end I truly did start crying all the happy tears it just touched my soul.

I’m speechless

After watching the movie (something like summer) cause my friend thought I would enjoy it, I found myself buying the whole book series. The first three books I fell in love with, but this book here. This book is my favorite so far! The author has me hooked into their lives and with this book having close to the present. I felt even close to the characters as Jason was a whole new character invited in. I saw myself just giving this book five stars, but instead wrote a whole review. This shows me and hopefully others how amazing this book is.

Another winner from Bell and Free

It's well written and the narration is exemplary. The main character Jason is articulate and empowered, much in the manner of Ben who, along with the irrepressible Tim, makes a welcome appearance in this novel. And it really is a novel, not merely a story. The psychological development and sophisticated dialogue lift it well above the range of the ordinary or the competent. Highly recommended.

It should be called Something Like Love

The book was absolutely amazing and I got the audio book and the voices really captured what the tone of the characters, happy or sad, really conveyed. The story was absolutely amazing! Had me laughing at times and even made me shed a couple of years every now and again. Jay Bell is an amazing writer and the Something Like series is by far one of the best written book series I have ever read or listened to!

GREAT STORY! Loved seeing Ben and Tim!

Any additional comments?

I love love loved seeing Ben and Tim again. In hindsight, I can't say that I am a huge fan of Jason. This story is definitely great and entertaining and I am 100% #TeamBentley-Wyman. We all have had a Cesar or two in our lives and the drama that came along with such nonsense.

This book moved me.

I've read my fair share of books but thia one struck a chord with me. I fell in love with the characters, in particular Jason and rekindled my love for Ben and Tim that was developed over the previous books in the series. This book is the best of the series. It is one of my all time favorites. Congratulations Jay Bell on another brilliant creation.

And once again...

I’m a blubbering mess. But as opposed to Summer where it was a mixture of joy & grief, Spring’s emotion is unadulterated happiness! And once again, Kevin R. Free’s performance breathes life into every character that lifts them off of the pages & into your imagination & heart. BRAVO, Kevin. Now, onto book five... During this dark time of sickness, death, & toxic governance, Jay Bell’s words through Kevin’s voice take me away to places I once loved in Austin with characters I love, today, who bring me all the emotions indicative of living one’s best life — or at least aspiring to do so. Happy. Sad. Grief. Anger. Joy. Frustration. Romantic. Erotic. Fulfillment.
