About this listen

Best-selling author Earlene Fowler has garnered critical acclaim for her Agatha Award-winning Benni Harper series. In this 15th entry, Benni and the ladies of her Coffin Star Quilt Guild are enjoying San Celina, California’s first-ever Memory Festival—when a sniper guns down a local cop. Fearing for the safety of her community—and for her family—Benni determines to root out the sniper before the once peaceful streets become a killer’s free-fire zone.

Good light hearted mystery with love and love of our God! Heartwarming. I wish Mrs Fowler would continue Bennie’s delightful story🥰

One of my favorites

Unfortunately the series lost steam … what started out as an interesting storyline about women who had lived through the horrors of earlier wars either as nurses or as a partner to someone who had gone through it as a soldier quickly became a book filled with way too many descriptive terms.
It’s like the author ran out of steam and just looked for stupid things to expand on that had no correlation to the main story at all … who cares what butter smelled like cooking in the pan…
Also it seems that this woman Benni became weaker and weaker as a series went on.
A police chief’s wife would not have crumbled as she did when a shooting occurred …
She seems way too dependent on the other men in her life to keep her strong — when in the past the character was much stronger.
I am Done with this series…
Evidently the author was too because she never wrote another !
I wouldn’t waste your time

EH… Way too many unneeded details on unimportant things
