The witches are gone. The inn is open. Peace and quiet? Yeah, right.

Brigid Donovan’s battle with the witches is finally over. Her new supernatural bed and breakfast is open for business, and she’s ready to embrace her new life as a low-key small business owner.

But peace never lasts—especially when there’s a power vacuum calling out to every ambitious supernatural in the region. Brigid doesn’t care who claims the territory… as long as they leave her out of it. Unfortunately, that’s not part of their plan.

To make matters worse, someone decided to drop off their unwanted poltergeist in her newly opened inn. Because obviously that’s what she needed right now.

With Mr. Mittens the ever-grumpy protector, her magical allies, and a fiercely loyal friend group, Brigid’s doing her best to keep things from falling apart.

Can she keep the inn afloat—and keep her head above water? Only time will tell.

Book Four in the Splintered Magic series—Splintered Haven proves peace is overrated, ghosts are rude, and Brigid is over it.

Cozies are very hit-or-miss for me, and this one was a hit, even with starting on a book 4. It was super cute, packed with action and had those ‘small town’ and ‘set in an inn’ vibes that I love so much, with of course, a bit of mystery.

Set in the PNW.
Set in a B&B / entrepreneur FMC.
Vampires.
Shifters.
Fae, mermaids, selkies - all the supernaturals.
War / battle scenes.
Small town.

Overall:
It had a lot going on, plausibility was basically out the window (it isn’t always, even with supernaturals for me) for the ‘big picture’, but it still very fun to escape into for a little while.

Would read more from this author.

I enjoyed this story. I especially like Mr. Mittens. The story has several characters that are rounding out well. The ending with Brightfeather was a nice tough. The narrator does a great job telling the story. I look forward to the next book in yhe series.

Good story!

Part-fae Brigid and her group of paranormal friends are back in an enthralling new urban fantasy adventure. This is book 4 of the Splintered Magic series, and I really liked it. Brigid is finally ready to open her supernatural bed and breakfast, and things get deadly.

At first I was skeptical of the plot because it sounded like a couple of weird and random problems were thrown at the characters, but the story did become exciting and addictive. I love the mix of supernatural species such as the teen dragon Gauk and the always entertaining Mr. Mittens. It is such a an adorable name for a telepathic cat who can shapeshift and kill large monsters! The dialogue, action scenes, and pacing are all very good. I really enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to the next one. The story ended at a good spot, but there were two teasers about what will happen in the next book.

This fourth book has a new narrator, Phillipa Miller, who did a great job. Her pleasing alto voice and style of acting is very similar to the previous narrator, so fans of the series might not notice the difference. Phillipa Miller was fantastic at distinctive voices, pacing, emoting, action scenes, and everything. She really brought the story to life.

I requested and received a free audiobook copy from the publisher, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review. #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam #NorthernLakeAudio
