Publisher's summary

Lacey Luzzi's roller coaster of a life has been filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. She just never expected the lows to be so...sparkly.

After falling on her face during an attempt to follow in her recently deceased mother's stripper boots, Lacey realizes she is not cut out for life onstage. She sets out on a yearlong investigation to find her true family, never expecting she'll find it with a capital F.

With a rumbling stomach, a need for money ("check engine" lights don't fix themselves!), and a conscience that operates at 78 percent on a good day, Lacey is sucked into a whirlwind of family secrets, hard-as-cement cookies, and mysterious, sexy men who unfortunately shoot guns, sometimes aimed at her face. The long-lost granddaughter of Carlos Luzzi, the godfather of the Italian Mafia, Lacey accepts her first assignment for the mob: finding $15 million of "the good stuff".

Even after she enlists the help of her mouthy best friend and her cousin, a technical genius and social disaster, she finds that going toe to toe with the rival Russian mob is more dangerous than expected.

No one chooses their family, but Lacey Luzzi will be lucky if she can survive hers.

OK

The story had some really amusing snippets and some excitement and suspense; but there was also a lot of just plain un-amusing silliness. At times the heroine, Lacey, acts so immaturely that I got tired of her problems and situations. “Just Grow Up Already!” This issue wasn’t helped by the narrator who sounds more like a 17 year old than 28.
There are quite a few characters and locations, and Lacey bounces around all of them non-stop, exhaustively and occasionally with loss of story continuity.
I listened to the end because, although not great, it offered entertainment during a long road trip and housework.

Great Humorous Cozy!

Any additional comments?

This is a great humorous cozy; this is the first book in the Lacey Luzzi Mafia Mysteries series. This book was written by Gina LaManna and narrated by Caitlin Kelly. Lacey Luzzi’s life is a rollercoaster ever since she set out on a yearlong investigation to find her true family. The next thing she finds is her family’s secrets and that she is the long lost granddaughter of Carlos Luzzi, the Godfather of the Italian Mafia. She takes on her first assignment for the mob and enlists the help of her mouthy best friend and her cousin who is a technical genius and social disaster.

The narrator Caitlin Kelly, did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. This is the first book that I have listened to by this narrator, and I am looking forward to listening to more books by her. She did a great job with the different characters and their voices.

This book has a great story; if you are looking for a great cozy that has humor, then you need to get this book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. Once I started listening to this book, I didn’t want to stop until the end.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

truly enjoyable!

While the books themselves are fantastic, having both a native Minnesotan & a native Italian both sound like New Yorkers was a bit irritating. Plus, "capiche" only has 2 syllables. And the guys who park cars? Val-ay, not val-ette.

Interesting Premise!

We start with the long lost granddaughter of the Twin Cities Mafia conducting an investigation for her grandfather, the Don. We add in 3 possible boyfriends, a gay cousin who is a tech geek, a best friend who is a female ex-cop bar owner and a hate/hate relationship with the gym. This adds up to a fun book that I would read the sequel to.

Narrator

Overall it was okay storyline, had a real hard time with the narrator- inflections and pauses in wrong places, pretty much just reading words from a page.

Who knew The Mob could be so much fun?!

I think it's unfortunate that Lacey is compared to Stef Plum, they are way different. And that's a good thing. Lacey is NOT somebody's knock-off, but a really fun person in her own right. And the stuff that happens to her, and the messes she gets into will make you laugh yourself silly! Any under 50 can relate to her, and the overs can remember being like her. Her pal Meg is soooo like my best friend since the 4th grade! No plot spoilers here, just be prepared to have fun. Remember: A good laugh is like 10 minutes on a rowing machine (old YMCA ad).
Caitlin Kelly is great as the audio performer! Peppy and easy to listen to, with good voice interpretation of the numerous characters (pun intended).

A witty cozy mystery...

I received this audiobook as a gift in exchange for a honest and unbiased review. I found this book "Sprinkled" to be witty and quite hilarious at times, along with being a cozy mystery. It is well written & has lots of danger at the same time. This book even has the mafia in it. There was a segment about beeches (not a typo) that had me roflmao!

The author, Gina LaManna did a great job writing this book. it is thoroughly entertaining. The plot is fantastic and I would never have guessed the ending! The narrator, Caitlin Kelly did a fine job delivering this story to us. I loved all her voices and found her Russian accents to be very good! Great job to you both!

AWESOME STROY!

I really enjoyed this story! I found myself laughing a lot throughout this. I didn't expect a mafia mystery to be quite this helarious! I will also admit, I didn't think the narration would be that good. But, I was quite pleasantly surprised! The accents were spot on, and so were the other voices and characters. I can't wait to read the next story! My innly regret is that it's not available on Audible! Luckily, I have a box set inn my Kindle app that I bought a while back. :-)
