Two broken hearts. One fake dating agreement. What could go wrong?
Lucie thought she had it all - a loving fiance, a nice apartment, and a job she was great at. But that all changed the day she walked in on her perfect fiance screwing his personal trainer on her newly purchased dream sofa. Three months later, she's bunking with her best friend and scrambling to make sense of her life sans cheating ex.
Theo is about to jet off for a long weekend in picturesque Scotland to be the best man at his brother's wedding. With stunning views and nothing but free food and drinking ahead, he should be more excited than he is. If only he didn't have feelings for the damn bride.
When fate throws Lucie and Theo together under unlikely circumstances, they bond over doughnuts and their mutually disastrous love lives...and it seems like they might be able to help each other out. As long as they both stick to the rules, there's nothing that can go wrong.
Contract in place? Check. Hot, fake dates? Check. Sexual chemistry steamy enough to scorch sheets? Double che - wait, what?
That wasn't in the agreement....

The narrators weren’t great. Like other reviews have mentioned, the male narrator took pauses that were way too long. The female narrator was also talking fairly slowly but what irked me a bit was when she would say that the MMC was saying something slow or growling or whatever, but she would use her male character voice and say it totally normal and add the “he said it this way” at the end.
About the story.. I didn’t like how what felt like for the first half of the book Theo was just objectifying Lucy. There wasn’t much about her character, that did come later, much mostly just him being attracted to her and describing her body in every outfit.. it got old fast.
The epilogue was good and sweet but the ending before the epilogue was just.. wtf!? so the other one forces himself on her, she gets hurt in the process and it’s just swept under the rug? and the lived happily ever after.. what!? no. also dang she didn’t know if she still wanted him until he forced himself on her? jumping into the next relationship is obviously the best choice in this scenario.
Sorry for ranting but the last hr or so before the epilogue just annoyed me quite a bit.
I would definitely recommend the first one. If you have already listened to that one, this book does include their continued story a bit. Incase you wanted more from Jared and Amy’s story.
The first one was unfortunately much better
