About this listen

Star Kingdom Omnibus II contains books 4 & 5 of the Star Kingdom series.

Crossfire, book 4:

For the first time in his life, roboticist Casmir Dabrowski is headed to another star system as an advisor for the Kingdom space fleet. He’s being given a chance to prove himself to King Jager by helping find the ancient artifact he inadvertently lost. It’s best not to think about what might happen if he fails....

But with technologically advanced astroshamans after the artifact, not to mention the deadly mercenary captain Tenebris Rache, it’s not long before the mission collides with disaster.

Soon, Casmir and his friends are caught between warring factions, and he must choose between what the king would want and what he knows is right.

Gate Quest, book 5:

Roboticist extraordinaire Casmir Dabrowski has a new nemesis: astroshaman leader Kyla Moonrazor.

She’s stolen the ancient wormhole gate the king ordered Casmir to retrieve, and she’s entrenched in an underwater base on a forsaken moon. Moonrazor is more educated and more experienced than Casmir, and she has legions of killer robots and cyborg defenders on her side. Casmir has his friends and...a submarine named the Waddler.

As if his task wasn’t daunting enough, his old competitor, mercenary Captain Tenebris Rache, is on the same quest, and he’ll do anything to keep the Kingdom from getting that gate.

If Casmir can’t find a way to defeat them, the king will never let him return to his home, his family, and the career he loves.

Still One of the Most Enjoyable Stories Since Junior High

The characters are all very distinctive and have depth. Both the story and the interplay between the characters are delightful. The narrator is superb.

Great story! Characters are fun and enduring.

Casmir and the gang made me smile, again. Exciting times and made me want to listen for hours at a time. The adventure ends but is held over with the promise of more good times in the next book. Character development was even better in books four and five. Cannot wait to hear book six. Well done.

Series is fun and unique.

I'm a fan of Isaac Asimov and Peter Hamilton, this is definitely a different feel than those books but I'm having a lot of fun listening. The characters are quirky and the plot of each book is unique and engaging.

Love this

Think I have a huge crush on Rache.

The characters in this series are just as well rounded as I have come to love with this author, who is now my favorite of all times

Really enjoyed!

I am a big fan of Buroker and had previously read the series. I purchased the audio because I was looking for a distracting listen and remembered enjoying the series before. I admit I wasn’t sure about the narrator at first, didn’t quite match what was in my head and I didn’t see how he would pull off the various characters, his own voice being distinctive. But as Casmir would say, it was delightful! The variety of accents are both well done and great fun. He also read with great energy and enthusiasm, and I had the impression that he was enjoying the story as much as I was.

If you haven’t listened to the first books, go back and do that first. Be prepared to get caught up in adventures with Casmir and his allies and frienamies.

The only headline I could think of was "WOW"

As a listener of hundreds of audio books and reader of thousands of hard cover novels, I can say with confidence YOU WILL LIKE this series of audio books.. The author mixes unusual characters with spontaneous humor and then adds riveting action drawing you in for more and more. Worthy of this 5 star rating... Thank you Lindsay Buroker

I must add a note for the Narration, although you could nit pick the performance overall Fred Berman does an excellent job controlling several different characters voices so it feels like your involved with the story not just listening to the words being read to you. Overall Great Job Fred.
