About this listen

Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan Anakin Skywalker star in this thrilling galactic adventure set three years after the events of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

When a Republic spy goes missing on the Moons of Varl, the Jedi Council asks Obi-Wan and Anakin to infiltrate an underground podracing circuit run by a crime boss believed to be holding the spy prisoner. With Anakin posing as a hotshot racer and Obi-Wan as his attendant, tensions between the two threaten to run even higher than usual.

But when Obi-Wan is forced to leave Varl, Anakin is on his own as he faces a series of increasingly treacherous races that will determine his fate—and that of the spy.

Master and apprentice must use all their Jedi skills in this action-packed tale of cutthroat competition, deadly deception, and, ultimately, what it means to be a Padawan.

The book is very good I thought. I love how they are picking up where the Phantom Menace left off, and doing Anakin’s story when he was a apprentice. I hope they come out with more of these books telling his story of apprenticing under Obi Wan.

I also love how they’re showing you that Obi Wan doesn’t have that confidence yet and is still learning. Showing you their relationship is in this book not close yet, and they seem uncertain of each other, but you can see if beginning on the path to becoming close as brothers. I really hope this is the beginning of a series!

They did a good job connecting the book to the movie. I think they did a good job with the mystery in this book. The sound effects were different but I liked it bc it did make it sound more like Star Wars than if it were just him reading the book.

I think people of all ages would enjoy this! I listened to this book while I was at work, and I finished it the same day I started.

I’m hoping for more!

Por fin otra historia de Obi Wan y Anakin.

A short & fast paced nostalgia trip without too much complexity, but not so simplistic as to be uninteresting. Character insights and internals were not surprising, but well executed and consistent with the general sense of Anakin and Obiwan that so many previous have given us. Moreover, this story was one of the better vehicles for elaborating on their personalities and challenges. Although meant for younger audiences, approached with proper expectations, this should be an enjoyable tale for fans of the Prequel Trilogy Era.

A feel good tale

I absolutely loved the sound effects and different voices for this recording. I highly recommend this book for the above reasons.

This story was a fun and fast paced adventure. While a quick listen, it was a fun story putting Anakin back into the drivers seat of a podracer, having Obi-Wan off playing detective. This did what Star Wars does best, filling the galaxy with exciting new places, wild new creatures, and slimy new criminals. What a pleasant surprise.

A fun fast paced race to the finish

Finally a free Star Wars story. Very enjoyable short story. Only complaint was Anakins voice is a little off. Nice to see pod racing again and how it connects to his journey

Unexpected surprise
