About this listen

David Sparrow is an awesome stay-at-home dad. He gets his kids ready for school while his wife, Amy, commutes to New York City, where she was recently promoted to deputy district attorney. In fact she just inherited a major case: prosecuting crime lord Dante Payne. Meanwhile David is content chatting with the moms at school drop-off, making dinner at night, and doing housework.

But when Dante Payne takes the fight directly to Amy, attacking her where she lives, David is forced to "reactivate" himself, revealing a history and deadly skill set his wife knew nothing about. And he'll do anything to protect his family.

Part Taken, part First Blood, Stay is an action packed, often hilarious, and hugely entertaining suburban thriller.

Movie

I enjoyed this story and can see it easily as an action film. The Mr mom angle and the govt operative action was lots of fun. I may have over rated by a star or two but as always you have to read it for yourself.

I liked the story.

Overall, I liked the book. The story was fast paced and full of action. The narrators voice took a little getting used to, it was creepy at first.

Fast paced and brilliantly written

The book, Stay, is a fast-paced, adrenaline-filled rush through the world of a stay at home dad who runs into much difficulty when his past life comes back and clashes with his current. I cannot recommend this book enough!

Starts Well Then..

Would you try another book from Victor Gischler and/or Peter Berkrot?

No

What could Victor Gischler have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

More realistic story, mid-way through the book it goes beyond reasonable action in a major city

What didn’t you like about Peter Berkrot’s performance?

Weird voice, it was distracting, especially in the beginning. After a bit I got used it but I am spoiled my some of the better readers for Audible books

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Just did not believe all this could happen in a major city. I like the book premise but he took it too far
