About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Kristen Proby comes Stay with Me, an all-new addition to the series that has sold more than a million copies to date, her beloved With Me in Seattle series!

Amelia Montgomery has left her past behind her. With a beauty and fashion career that’s skyrocketing and a loving family around her, everything else is just junk in the rearview mirror. Until it’s not. When she has to drop out of the public eye, her cousin Jules offers her a new, temporary life on the Puget Sound. Her past may be catching up with her, but hope for the future is in Seattle.

Wyatt Crawford can’t figure out the enigmatic beauty who’s living next door. As an architect, he’s usually good at looking beneath the surface - but she barely even leaves her house. Until she needs his help. When she knocks on his door, how can he resist? It isn’t long before Wyatt and Amelia become more than just neighbors. But when he finally learns the truth, will the skeletons in her closet be too much for him to handle, or will he stay?

Listening BIG part of Communication

When you’re in a relationship listening and talking are good to have but you have shut one to do the other! Glad that Amelia and Wyatt got a second chance!

Fiery couple

Stay with Me isn't my first experience with Kristen Proby, but my feelings about this one aren't quite in line with what I expected based on what I have read or listened to. That's not to say it isn't good, but there were things that just didn't work for me. I liked the premise, and I liked the characters, including the secondary characters who were new to me since this is the first book I've read in the With Me in Seattle series. I'll add here that I didn't have any problem following the story. There were a lot of secondary characters, but Proby does give enough information so I was able to keep everyone straight as they came and went.
As I mentioned, I liked Amelia and Wyatt. The problem is there were times when I liked them better separately than together. I think a lot of that has to do with Wyatt's jealousy. The way he acted felt a little over the top for this guy who was otherwise so well rounded, especially the way he acted in the latter part of the story when the couple has the big angsty problem to overcome.
I realize I sound like I didn't like this story at all, but that's really not the case. There were some truly great lines in this one, which is exactly what I expect from this author, and Wyatt seemed to understand exactly what Amelia needed to hear and what would make her feel cherished and safe. I guess that's why I had such a hard time wrapping my head around this one. This couple went from one extreme to the other, and honestly, I couldn't decide if I wanted them together or not. I don't know, maybe that was the intention behind it all. If so, it definitely worked.
Whatever the reason, this couple was an exercise in frustration. Ah, but here's the rub - as much as they frustrated me, as much as I'd have liked to reach into the pages of the book and shake the daylights out of both of them, I wanted to keep listening. I wanted to see how things would play out. So, Kristen Proby did her job quite well as far as keeping me engaged and listening to this story.
The narrators did a great job with these characters in my opinion. I was already familiar with Lee Samuels and his sexy voice, but Kitty Bang was new to me. She has just the tiniest bit or rasp in her voice that worked well with the steamy scenes as well as when she needed a bit of fire in her voice.
So, what it all comes down to is this couple may have driven me a little crazy, they may have jumped into things a little quickly, and they may have needed a little shake every now and then - but, the writing along with the narration kept me listening to the end, and that ending was kind of perfect for Amelia and Wyatt.

It’s good to be back in Seattle

Staying in Seattle

One of the best days was finding out Kristen Proby was going to write more with me in Seattle series (the Montgomery’s) this one of the best series. Amelia is a cousin of the Montgomery’s that needs to move back to Seattle for a while and Jules helps her out in her time of need. Amelia is a strong woman that has baggage from an ex that she is trying to work through and needs to stay away from LA., she does not expect to meet the neighbor Wyatt. Wyatt also has baggage from his ex wife who cheated on him. These two end up getting to know each other and decide they enjoy spending time together. Can their baggage, or her extremely protective family keep them apart.

It was great to go back to Seattle and get to visit with all the characters from the with me in Seattle series. Kristen Proby did not disappoint, but it also a good read/listen if you have not read the series you will not get lost. I highly recommend this fantastic read.

Enjoyable story

Amelia had a rough marriage and all she wants is a divorce. She thinks that it is final, but comes to learn her ex is contesting it, she goes back home to lay low so her lawyer can work this out. She was looking to move on with her life, but that didn’t include her hot neighbor. Wyatt is also divorced but he can’t seem to stay away from Amelia. This is an enjoyable story of two people dealing with their baggage and deciding to move on with their lives.

Another With me in Seattle book! Yay!

Until this book was out, I had no idea how much I missed the others in the series. So good to hear how their lives have moved on and into their families, and sticking together no matter what. The fact that Kristen Proby has managed to keep her characters themselves (man that must be hard!) in each new book as they appear in other books along the way. This one is no exception. You get everyone! The Quarterback, the nurse, the cupcake shop, the cop, even the actor and his photographer! They all band around for Lia (Amelia) in her quest for safety and fight for the sweet, strong Wyatt. Excellent end to this amazing, unforgettable series. I hope it's not the end tho - need more Montgomery madness! :)

Welcome back to the Montgomery world

Welcome back to the "With Me" series by Kristen Proby. It's been a hot minute since I read anything from this series, but it was like coming home. I love the Montgomery clan and all the characters we've had in the past. The couples and families are all not to be missed and I love that we got cousins now too! But don't worry, you don't need to read any of the previous books to enjoy this one. It read fine on it's own, but that was a major attraction for me. Like I said, like coming home. Comfort food, if you will.

This is Amelia's story and she is returning to Seattle to be closer to family but also because her attorney has said she needs to get away. Her ex hasn't completed the final steps for their divorce that she thought she already had. She moved in to her cousin's friends home and will be staying there until she figures out her life. Enter the next door neighbor, Wyatt. They see each other and have immediate chemistry. SO much so that Amelia does something she has never done before. With that, their romance starts. I have to say, the insta love/insta hook up was not exactly my thing. I suppose I'm not an instalove sort of reader I've noticed, but to each their own. I was already feeling comfort in the story because of returning to a series I've loved, that I kind of overlooked my thoughts on their relationship. Add in the banter between each character and their family had with one another and it became that much more enjoyable. Can we get some love for Wyatt's brothers??

With all of that said, I enjoyed the narrators of the story. I think they felt like their characters Amelia and Wyatt. Much enthusiasm for the scenes. They did a good job of bringing me back to the series and characters I've loved. BUT, these 2 characters that have been through relationships acted very immature. I would've thought since they had both been in relationships before and have been divorced, they would've learned a bit and have grown. I suppose they did, but their reactions to many things were juvenile. I did like when they got together and communicated and took care of one another. That part felt real and genuine. And their fast relationship that progressed quicker than I thought was comfortable was a little turn off.

Overall, this story was a little like comfort food and I enjoyed being back in the world. The characters jobs were fun (wish we got more of Wyatt's and his interaction with his client), and Amelia's was very now working on YouTube and with makeup. Unique. The narration was done well and I felt like I got to be in the characters heads. But I also didn't exactly like the way the characters acted and reacted to situations. Especially the way Wyatt handled something toward the end. Lots of mixed feelings for me concerning the story as a whole, but overall I would say this was a 3.5. If you're a "With Me" fan, definitely read or give this one a listen. It feels good to "be home", but try to ignore the way these characters acted. They seemed younger than their actual ages.

Beautiful love story

The story is wonderful. Loved the characters and getting to hear about the other people in the Series. The narrators are not that great. Both read way to slowly. Some of the performance was nice but the book would not have taken 7 hours if read by other people.

Another great story!

Another great story by Kristen Proby. I have enjoyed all of the “With Me In Seattle” books and this one is no different. It is narrated perfectly by Ms. Bang and Mr. Samuels.
