Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Tricia O’Malley comes a riveting magickal romance set in modern-day Dublin.

Clare MacBride has her life in exactly the order she wants it. In a year, she’ll have finished her geology dissertation, though she’s no closer to figuring out the answer to one question that plagues her: Why does she feel stones pulse with energy? A centuries-old curse, a mysterious faction of protectors, and a mythological godstone all sound like Old World fairy tale nonsense to Clare.

It only takes one rainy evening with a silver-eyed fae and a handsome stranger promising protection to rock her world forever. With her life plans shattered at her feet, the lines of science and fiction blur as Clare is forced to throw everything she knows about the world out the window and look deep within her heart for answers.

Familiar storyline, no surprises

The story was ok...a good light listen if not wanting anything deep. It was pretty predictable and the "battles" lacked intensity. It was similar to an Irish trilogy by Nora Roberts but not as good. I am not a fan of the narrator. Her male voices make them sound whiny and leans towards "surfer dude." She voiced an actual surfer in another book by Dean Koontz and even that was hard to listen to. Her portrayal of the characters made it difficult to connect. Bianca was the only character I felt any connection to...goofy fun, loyal friend. This is a good "beach book" for something light.

Enjoyable, light story

Likeable characters, with realistic human faults trying to do the right thing. An entertaining plot. Worth trying the second in this fantasy series.

Bianca is the best side character ever!!

She may not be the main character but I'm telling you she's one of the best. her and Sheamus just are the best couple and they just keep coming back again and again in all four of the the destiny books this series Tricia O'Malley has hit another Series right out the park. see also the tequila series and the oh I forgot the other one there's a there's one about mermaids or something that is great and there's another one that parallels this on top of her gosh Wild Irish Series 31 books in that bad boy all great books.

Yes! Buy this book!

This book hit the spot for me. Taking place in modern day Ireland, it follows Clare MacBride as she discovers her powers and embarks on a quest to find the stone of destiny. I love how this book incorporated fae lore and mythology into modern times. I’ve already bought the next book in the series and I can’t wait to continue the adventure.

Narrative brings more engagement to this fluffy cute beach read

Cute quick read fluffy beach read! Very cheesy at times, but cute beach read nonetheless! Was touch angsty which was eye rolling bcse didn’t have to be in that moment, but had to have the tied way though the book break up to make up scene lol felt more with them like a sappy hallmark movie lol! Which is why it’s a 3/4 Stars! Not all the feels, but sappy fun to it!! Obviously loved touch the forbidden romance trope the best! The bit of mystery treasure hunt worth the read if you like that trope as well!!

the story was great

so many times I almost stopped listening to this book because it was not one of the best audio books I've ever listened to. the men did not sound masculine and when you're listening to a book that has like a love story in it you need a masculine guy and it sounded like somebody that was trying to do a deep voice that just couldn't. I don't really have anything good to say about the audio but the book itself had a great storyline

Overall Great! On to book 2!

The narrator did a great job, except for the male voices....I didn't care for those, they were distracting.

Good Series Start

This is a good series starter, but it reminds me of another story with a Nora Roberts feel. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nora Roberts, but if I wanted to read one of her trilogies I would have looked for that instead.

I enjoyed and finished this, but was not invested enough in the characters to move on with the series.
