About this listen

The troubling message from Serena Charters' late grandmother appears in a package containing four pages of a centuries-old illuminated manuscript - a strange inheritance that hides many secrets...and has already cost many lives.

Seeking answers, Serena turns to Erik North of Rarities Unlimited, a reclusive manuscript appraiser with a passion for the past. Without warning they are thrust together into the center of a lethal firestorm that rages between two worlds - one long dead yet living on in an ancient text, the other chillingly alive and fraught with peril.

In the blink of an eye, Serena and Erik have become targets of an unseen and determined stalker as they get closer to shocking revelations about Serena's legacy, the cold murder of an eccentric old woman in the heat of the Mojave Desert...and just how far a remorseless killer is willing to go. And now their only slim hope of survival is to keep moving.

Moving Target

Such a wonderful sequel to the Medieval Trilogy as well as a great introduction into a new series, Rarities Unlimited. I always wondered what happened to Erik of Sea Home in the Untamed/Forbidden/Enchanted series. He seemed like too terrific a guy not to get his own happily ever after. And I loved the way the author intertwined the ancient story with the modern day one. Perfection!

Erik’s Story

I purchased this book hoping to get Erik’s (from Medival Series) story. Other reviews had suggested this. Although Erik is featured in the history, it is a very unfleshed out story and not very satisfying. I’m not sure if I would have enjoyed this book more if I wasn’t anticipating Erik’s happy story.

Fascinating

This book held my attention from the beginning. I loved the protagonist and how she handled things. There was an otherworldly component that was fascinating. Thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to read the next best thing OK by this author.

decent story, inadequate narrator

dry, flat narration with very audible swallowing sounds. despite that, i liked the story enough to finish it.

Enjoyed!

Interesting to learn a bit about the Art world and acquisitions. This book included a little bit of everything!

Great Read!

Elizabeth Lowell is one of my all time favorite authors. I've read her books over and over. Moving Target was no different. I first read this book as a stand alone and didn't realize it was Erik's story from the Medieval series until I re-read it this time. I always wondered if his story would be told and wasn't disappointed. I've already re-read the books from the Medieval series and still find them fascinating. I'll re-read the other books in the Rarities series as well. The only thing that would make the series really come together for me is to know Dana and Neil's story from their beginning. The narrator was superb and I'll look for other titles she narrates.

very interesting and entertaining

The reader was really excellent. I liked her voice and her interpretation of the characters. The story is fanciful, but is well written with interesting characters.

Good book narration could be better

The book is good. I like this series. The narration could of had better editing, there was a lot of loud swallowing that was like nails down a chalk board. I know everyone needs to swallow but it sounded really loud at least on my device, not like other books I’ve listened too.

Powerful woman and great characters

This is a lovely story. It builds consistently and, despite the unusual premise, keeps the story grounded and believable.
