About this listen

Harvest Grove News:

Favorite bar owner, Ford Prescott, is back in town for his yearly stay, making this his sixth October in Harvest Grove! Single ladies—try not to overwhelm the poor man with so many baked goods this year.

Sidney Tanner wants residents to know her Severed Head Succulents will be buy one, get one free before the countdown to midnight begins on October Eve. Since it's likely she'll be in jail at some point that night, please text her your orders.

Still seeking volunteers for various events around town: Someone to organize pumpkin carving night at the Gore House. An extra, bloody cheerleader for the yearly viewing of The Babysitter's Last Halloween. Costume will be provided. A brave soul to keep an eye on the Tanner girls this month.

We assume Ford will be volunteering for that last one, since he and Sidney are always joined at the hip when he's in town. A little bat tells me these October best friends will be heating things up in town this year.

Fasten your sheet belts, Harvest Grove! Let's hope when the clock strikes midnight on October 31, our dear Sidney won't be ghosted again . . .

Contains mature themes.

Perfect Fall RomCom

This hit all the boxes. Classic Tara Sivec. I laughed, she pulled on my heart strings, I laughed some more. Quite possibly my favorite friends to lovers book in years. I enjoyed it as an ebook last year and as soon as I saw it was available in audio format I bought that too. Great narration. Highly recommend for a spooky season read full of laughs and outrageous behavior.

Fun October Read

Enjoyed the characters and story of a Halloween themed small town. The friends to romance between Sydney and Ford was great and not too frustrating when you could tell the mistakes they were making. The “twins” were hysterical with their antics. Fun read from start to finish.

A sweet and fun story!

Cute and light story with low drama and once you get to the spice... it's worth the wait. Gregory Salinas is, as always, *chef's kiss*

Way to turn things around!

“O…M…G… Am I an idiot?”
The first half of this was funny, but also aggravating. Sidney and Ford have been friend-zoning
each other for six years. The flashbacks to tell their story made this a slow, slow burn.
And the failures to communicate? Gah! I was debating between a two and three star review.

“These diabolical little sh…ts!”
And then things take a turn into rom-com gold at the mid-point. The reveals! The rioting Care Bears!
The Steel Magnolias, small town family comedy! The dastardly sisters who prey on the men-who-cheat!
I took back every single thought I had about the first half. It was all necessary for the set-up.

“… the pumpkin is enroute!”
Other reviews mention ‘cute’ and ‘sweet’ and yes, there were those Jerry Maguire moments.
However, this was also sexy and steamy and delicious, especially with the dirty talk in Mr. Salinas’s
deep bourbon voice. Hoo! This stabbed me right in the heart with the pumpkin carver!

Tara Sevic is such a fun author!

I'm rounding this one up because of the laughs and Halloween theme. Tara Sivec is one of my favorite light-read authors, and I'll read her books whenever I need a cute rom-com read.

Ford has been returning each year to tend to a bar he inherited, and on his very first meeting, he met Sydney. She's a firecracker with a family, which is the most irritating part of this book. (His family is a close 2nd) . I'm glad he finally got his shit together and admitted to her how he felt.

Lots of smiles and laughs, a little steam, and a cute HEA. There is no 3rd act breakup, even though some drama is thrown in.

Tara is one of those authors I always pick up when I need a lighter read. And the fact that it's a Halloween-themed book made it fit into my monthly reads perfectly!
