About this listen

Rediscover the pleasures of love and laughter, food and wine, friendship and romance with number one New York Times best-selling author Susan Wiggs!

With a little determination and a lot of charm, Rosa Capoletti took a run-down pizza joint and turned it into an award-winning restaurant, voted the “best place to propose” three years in a row. For Rosa, though, there has been no real romance since her teenaged love affair with Alexander Montgomery ended without explanation a decade ago. But guess who’s just come back to town?

Reunited at the beach house where they first fell in love, Rosa and Alexander discover that the secrets of the past are not what they seem. Now, Rosa searches for happiness with the man who once broke her heart - and learns that in love, as in life, there are second chances.

Really enjoyed this story and it’s Secret Garden vibes

I loved the Lakeshore Chronicles by Susan and this book had a lot elements that reminded me of that series. It was just the comfort book I needed after dealing with the stress of the pandemic. I love the characters, the story line, the details, and the references to the character’s history. There were some Secret Garden vibes in this story, and I absolutely loved that book as a child. I recommend this book to those who enjoyed the Apple Orchard and Beekeepers Ball, the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr and the Eternity Springs series by Emily March.

Summer by the sea

The story line was a good. I like the romance in the story.
I must say I struggled To keep my interest in The story Because of Always going back And repeating What took place before. 🤔

love through the years

This was a sweet story. The basic idea is two folks who fell in love as young people rediscover each other as adults and try to heal their wounds. It switches from their current story to flashbacks of their history. Very captivating and intriguing.

Multiple summers between two friends

I was disappointed with the ending. I would love if there was a sequel to this book about Rosa and Alexander.

Always comforting reads

I'm never disappointed when I listen to any of Susan's reads. And sometimes if they just don't seem as good as others I find when I listen to them again I find much deeper meaning and pearls of wisdom in each of her books. Each book has a unique twist and a lesson, or insights to things we forgotten about in the past that give our life meaning and value. Thank you.

my favorite Susan Wiggs book

this is a must have book. not only does it have True Romance, but love of family, childhood friends, and passion for one's life. Add an unsolved mystery and you have a novel that you can't put down.

The unsatisfactory narrator

I’ve only begun this book, but I just cannot take this narrator any longer. I’d like Susan‘s stories, but her choice of narrators is to me, many times just awful, to the point I just can’t either start after listening to the sample or once I get into it. You can’t always tell me the sample.
