About this listen

For every woman who has ever loved - and never forgotten.

Michelle Turner thought she lost everything at 17. Her father, a Hollywood legend, had finally summoned her to his Montana ranch. But when he learned of her affair with Sam McPhee, a hired hand, he had Sam fired and destroyed his family. Michelle, pregnant and alone, fled to Seattle.

Now a successful advertising exec, Michelle is safe-safe from love, safe from hurt. But her son is lost to her, a troubled teen on the verge of self-destruction, a boy who blames her for the absence of his father and grandfather.

And then her father calls to tell her he is dying. He has only one chance to live - if she will donate a kidney to save him.

For her sick father, she must bridge the gulf that distance and time have widened. For her son, she must find the miracle that will pull him away from the abyss that threatens his future. And for Sam, the man who left her years ago, she must face all the secrets of the past and find a way to heal the scars and love again.

This is a beautiful story of reunited love & life

Male voiced parts were not good at all.
Needed a man’s voice and it would have been a great book.

Great story

This is my first Susan Wiggs book. Her writing style is flows perfectly as the events unfold. I found myself rooting for the characters and enjoyed how the book ending. Natalie’s narrator was perfect! She really brought the character and stories to life.

A captivating story of many second chances

This was a story of hidden love, deceit, well meaning and wrong intentions. Great story. Developing trust..is its own reward.

Another "don't want to put down" book! Great story line and the reader had a good voice. However, I didn't like the way she changed her voice to try and get a "male" voice....too FAKE!

REALLY LIKED!

This book is well worth the listen. I loved it. The characters a flawed and don’t always make the predictable choice.

Great story!

I especially enjoyed the narration. Each character was believable. The story line kept me interested and wanting to hear more.

The voice of the narrator is so dry and drawn out it was a strain to get through the first 10 minutes. I usually enjoy audio books and I am a big Susan Wiggs fan, but I can’t stand Nauru’s ‘s delivery on this book. I will read the book instead. 😥

I hate the narration on this book

The You I Never Knew is so fraught with dysfunction as to be irritating, at best, throughout much of this generously long read/listen. Lots of understandable human faux pas, addictions, lying, half-truths, selfishness, cowardice, sad too-bad missteps in families, by parents, resulting in galloping tragedies of varying degrees. A rather unique storyline in setting, characters, beautifully written, well narrated. But, for me, there were SO many co-dependent, addicted, self-centered, irritating characters, it created many moments of eye rolling, “Oh, come ON!” on my part. Appreciated the ranch, Montana settings & descriptions of that land but when it finally came to an end, with some characters beginning to get out of their own ways, finally fessing up…I was just glad to be done with it. A well-written grovel in degrees of abuse, indulgence with 12 step programs needed in about every direction.

Hard for me to rate because…

This story would have been good but was too explanatory shortening it up some completely boring parts
