Publisher's summary

Deep within the peaceful heart of Amish country, a life-or-death emergency shatters a quiet world to its core. Number-one New York Times best-selling author Susan Wiggs delivers a riveting story that challenges our deepest-held beliefs.

Caught between two worlds, Caleb Stoltz is bound by a deathbed promise to raise his orphaned niece and nephew in Middle Grove, where life revolves around family, farm, faith - and long-held suspicions about outsiders. When disaster strikes, Caleb is thrust into an urban environment of high-tech medicine and the relentless rush of modern life.

Dr. Reese Powell is poised to join the medical dynasty of her wealthy, successful parents. Bold, assertive, and quick-thinking, she lives for the addictive rush of saving lives. When a shocking accident brings Caleb Stoltz into her life, Reese is forced to deal with a situation that challenges everything she thinks she knows - and ultimately emboldens her to question her most powerful beliefs.

Then one impulsive act brings about a clash of cultures in a tug-of-war that plays out in a courtroom, challenging the very nature of justice and reverberating through generations, straining the fragile threads of faith and family.

Deeply moving and unforgettable, Between You and Me is an emotionally complex story of love and loss, family and friendship, and the arduous road to discovering the heart’s true path.

Awesome

Tanya Eby is always wonderful as well as her male counterpart in this storytelling. The novel is engrossing and will make you smile and cry. I loved it. The characters were very strong. I liked that children were as much as the adults. This was with every penny I spent to listen!

Great story

Very easy to follow all the characters. Good storyline. I thought it was a good mix of the Amish world and the English. Loved the main characters!

Cultures collide

The story was about an Amish man and a woman doctor whose worlds collide through a family tragedy. Following their journey of learning about and respecting each other’s beliefs and lifestyles gave me great pause as to what really is important in life.

Entertaining, but…

I grew up in the area, so the story was very familiar to me. A true fantasy. Interesting and slow. Interesting character development with almost no action and predictable. Glad I read it once.

The honesty the simplicity of life and the how love can make it better

The story of how two different lives collide with the shattering events of how you handle life. It was a great story about how challenges can help you decide what you need to do to keep a promise made and how to keep your family together.

Good story. Well read

I’m not a fan of romances, but I do like stories about different American cultures. This story had enough tension and enough content. in the very beginning, I did not like the narrator but I got used to her. I really appreciate that. She did not use some simpering, voice or deep vocal fry to represent a man’s voice. She did a good job.

Amish

The author gave the reader a glimpse into the Amish culture. I have read other authors who write about it too. This story gave the views from within the community alongside the view of an outsider.

Loved this story!

I have always enjoyed stories that include the Amish. They have a way of giving the story and characters a new flavor. Cheers to the author and Bravo to the narrator. A superb audio favorite.
