About this listen

Eco-minimalism is a hot-button issue right now, and for good reason: living a life with less can be the key to saving our precious planet.

We are exhausted. There's so much to do, and way too much to buy. Whether it's through late night TV ads, social media, or other sources of influence, we seem to be addicted to buying and then storing things. Sometimes we consume with no regret and other times we realize that we're doing more harm than good to our wallets and our homes. It's a constant cycle - one that many are longing to break. Who wants their hard-earned money to go toward something that soon ends up in a landfill?

We have an abundance of things. Manufacturing "stuff" exploits Earth's precious (and finite) resources. And then there's the harsh reality of where it all goes. Our discarded possessions ultimately head to landfills and contribute to environmental pollution, releasing greenhouse gases during breakdown and decomposition.

Sustainable minimalism is the solution overworked people are seeking but can't seem to find in any store. This book empowers readers to incrementally incorporate the tenets of sustainable minimalism into their homes and lives. You will master the easiest tasks first and build upon your successes-a practical and stress-free process. Now that's sustainable!

I’m so happy I read this book. I had been struggling with the balance between eco living and minimalism and Stephanie not only addresses that tension but also gives so many action items and new perspectives on how to balance/ meet in The middle of those two worlds. I learned a lot and everything was very digestible. Also love her podcast!!

There’s a lot of practical information for people with a cluttered home, kids, and spare time. I unfortunately have none of those things.

Good but not really for me

Although I am not a minimalist, this was my first title in reading about it. I enjoyed it for its realistic heartfelt reasons to move towards it to honor our world itself. I was definitely moved by the reflective approach connecting it to the community beyond home.

This book was well-written & contained lots of useful info. My favorite part was the narration—Teri Schnaubelt’s narration is intelligent, relaxed, & entertaining. This is one of the stronger titles I’ve listened to in this genre.

Stephanie did an excellent job writing a book that was a pleasure to read. It was educational and had lots of great practical tips. I like how she's encouraging people to take any steps toward sustainability if they find the zero waste lifestyle unobtainable. I also liked the recipes for homemade products. The part at the end about being vocal or volunteering to take action according to your personality was insightful information. Her podcast is also a great way to hear more of Stephanie. Keep delivering these Sustainable Minimalism messages!! Great job!
