One of Oprah Magazine's 21 Romance Novels That Are Set to Be the Best of 2020

USA Today best-selling author Talia Hibbert returns with another charming romantic comedy about a young woman who agrees to fake date her friend after a video of him "rescuing" her from their office building goes viral....

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits - someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

When big, brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues Dani from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, it's an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and former rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together. But before she can explain that fact to him, a video of the heroic rescue goes viral. Suddenly, half the internet is shipping #DrRugbae - and Zaf is begging Dani to play along. Turns out, his sports charity for kids could really use the publicity. Lying to help children? Who on earth would refuse? Dani's plan is simple: fake a relationship in public, seduce Zaf behind the scenes. The trouble is, grumpy Zaf is secretly a hopeless romantic - and he's determined to corrupt Dani's stone-cold realism. Before long, he's tackling her fears into the dirt. But the former sports star has issues of his own, and the walls around his heart are as thick as his...um, thighs.

The easy lay Dani dreamed of is now more complex than her thesis. Has her wish backfired? Is her focus being tested? Or is the universe just waiting for her to take a hint?

"Talia Hibbert is a rockstar! Her writing is smart, funny, and sexy...." (Meg Cabot, number one New York Times best-selling author of the Little Bridge Island and Princess Diaries series)

*falls in love with Hibbert's words again*

All the heart eyes for this, what a beautiful book! The worst thing I can say is that I wanted to shake Dani hard a few times. I laughed out loud a number of times and I teared up more than once. I loved their friendship and their banter. I loved that, as much as Dani had a strong sense of herself and her abilities she wasn't the one to bring the emotional understanding to the relationship. As a person who has been in a long-term relationship with a man who has that ability it was wonderful to see it reflected in a book. I loved Zaf so much, he has all the qualities that make an amazing friend and partner. I really enjoyed Dani's strength and her belief in being exactly who she was without apology. I loved all the secondary characters too.

Audio: I loved the narrator, she did an outstanding job. Her voices were distinct and enjoyable. The accent she used for Zaf made me want him to have more dialog just so I could listen to her narrate them. I will definitely look for more of her work.

Fabulous, fantastic & sexy

Mostly enjoyed the banter between the 2 protagonists. But an excellent feature was the way the anxiety weaved through the story for both characters.

Sappy romance but nice

I usually read high fantasy military novels... but I’m diversifying so I gave romance and try and this book was worth the read.

Not my style but a nice soft book.

My favorite of this series!

I loved each book, but this one was my favorite. Great choice to switch narrators. The woman who did the last 2 books was perfect. I love how the author brings two flawed people together who inspire eachother to be their best selves and help each other grow. That is what I hope to find for myself someday.
