From best-selling author Talia Hibbert comes a story of wicked royals, fake engagements, and the fed-up office worker trapped in the midst of it all.

Cherry Neita is 30, flirty, and done with men. As far as she can tell, they're overrated, overpaid, and underperforming - in every area of life. But a girl has needs, and the smoking-hot stranger she just met at the office seems like the perfect one-night stand....

Prince Ruben of Helgmøre is reckless, dominant, and famously filthy. The outcast royal is rebuilding his reputation - all for a good cause - but he can't resist a pretty face. And bossy whirlwind Cherry's got the face, the body, and the attitude to make Ruben's convictions crumble. Even better, when she propositions him, she has no idea who he really is.

But when paparazzi catch the pair, erm, kissing in an alleyway, Ruben's anonymity disappears faster than Cherry's knickers. Now, the press is in uproar, the palace is outraged, and Ruben's reputation is back in the gutter. There's only one way to turn this disaster around - and it involves Cherry, some big fat lies, and a flashy diamond ring. On her left hand.

Unfortunately, Cherry isn't pleased with Ruben's "fake engagement" scheme...and neither is the king.

Contains mature themes.

I usually do not tune into fantasy tales such as this appeared to be, but having been pleased by another title by the same author, I gave it a try. This story did not disappoint. I imagine, in the age of Meghan and Harry, it is a storyline that is entirely plausible. I was hooked from the start. What a delightful and sexy story. I was intrigued by the dominance and submission relationship behind closed doors because the satisfaction of both partners was pursued; balanced. It was an interesting juxtaposition. Of course, I love a HEA and pretty babies. I recommend this read to anyone who wants a story with characters who are not textbook pretty, have challenging backstories, present tenses that are tinged with life, can stand very detailed deconstruction of sex scenes and are protagonists who support each other (hero and shero present).

story with a hero and a shero 🙌🏾

A lot more depth to these two characters who find love. Good storyline with Cherry, our heroine being a strong woman finding a man who’s been through a lot to grow into a strong man. Made for each other. Narration for the male character however was all over the place. Couldn’t decide what his accent was supposed to be. Worth the read.

Not what I expected

I actually have no clue of what drew me to this title, but I'm elated that I get to add it to my Audible library. This story is full of twists that you don't see coming, but the growth is *chef's kiss*.

A ride I didn't expect, but I'm glad I hopped on

Terrible narrator but truly wonderful book. Once you get past the kind of stilted beginning, it’s bingeable and crazy enjoyable.

So Good!

At first I didn’t like voice acting but then I love the performance they did when things got very descriptive

Great story and wonderful voice acting

I will start this review by stating that the writing is incredible, the spice is perfect for me, the performance is stellar, and the story is compelling. I listened to this over the course of a single day because I couldn't stop.

The only downside is that the pacing is odd. The story feels well paced in the beginning and middle of the book, the spicy bits are sprinkled through the book enough to be fun without being overwhelming, but it did feel like the climax and resolution of the book were rushed. The characters go from being fairly well fleshed out, handsy with each other in fun ways, to being kind of two dimensional and weirdly hands off. It almost felt like the author had to keep under a maximum word or page count.

If the book was better paced it would be a contender for my favorite book, but the story and experience was still A+.

I'll be checking out more books from the author as I hope this is an example of her writing.

Amazing story, amazing writing, but pacing needs help

LOVE the book! The characters have depth, the story is very interesting, emotional and sexy!
I mostly liked the narrator. I don't totally agree with the choice of a male narrator, but he is very good. He can bring the appropriate emotions in every scene, gives the book the necessary rhythm and allows you to differentiate the "voices". My main issue was with his accents, which are very important in this book, since the majority of the characters are from outside the UK. The Scandinavian accents sound surprisingly Italian... specially the grandmother's voice, that came out messed up!
Even with that, I would definitely recommend this audiobook.

Amazing book, good narrator, bad accents

I had hit a slump in finding new, positive audiobooks until I found this book. What fun! I'll be seeking out more books from Talia Hibbert. Cornell Collins did a great job with the narration.

Total enjoyment!

Really lovable, complicated characters and story. Also, I LOVE A BLACK WOMAN CURVY MAIN CHARACTER!

The best type of fairytale…
