About this listen

It's been five months since vampire Sam Parker Bound herself to Jared Michaels, her powerful co-commander within the Grand High Master vampire's personal legion. Life as a Bound couple has been going just fine...until the Grand High Master announces he will be stepping down from his position and wants Sam and Jared to take his place. Oh joy.

Despite Sam's reservations, she agrees to ascend. But something very powerful has surfaced; something that is quickly decreasing the vampire population and could steal the lives of people close to Sam. At the same time, she finds herself under the scrutiny of vindictive vampires accusing her of exploiting her position as a commander - something that would threaten her ascension.

Under the watchful eyes of people who would love nothing more than to strip her of her title, Sam and Jared must continue to conceal her hybrid status and find a way to fight this power that nothing before them has ever been able to overcome. If not, they stand to lose not only the people they hold close, but their future as the Grand High Pair.

Ok, this series is growing on me. I think I just like this couple more now that they are together and there is no longer the bickering from the first book. I think the storyline in this book and book 2 is pretty interesting. I highly recommend the audiobooks. The two narrators are doing a good job with these characters.

Good

Sam and Jared have bound themselves and are co-commanders for the Grand High Master vampire. That is until the Grand High Master tells them he wants to retire.

Despite Sam not enjoying the spotlight, her and Jared feel compelled to resolve a virus wiping out Vampires. Despite Sam having the respect of her team and partner, other vampires challenge her ability to lead and more so challenge her new abilities as hybrid.

Really enjoyed this book by Suzanne Wright and Justine Eyre's and PJ Ochlans creative and fun narration of this action packed story.

Justine Eyre and P. J. Ochlan gave solid performances. I especially enjoyed the accents.

Suzanne Wright is an author who writes books I will automatically purchase just because her name is on the cover. She has more than earned that by consistently delivering quality stories I’ve enjoyed every single time.

Excellent, as usual

I loved this book. It was a great sequel, and the audio made it even better.

This is a fun story but some of the plot points only work because there are some time skips which allows the reader to be kept out of the loop imo. Great story though

I really liked this series. Having said that I so get so stinkin tired of authors bringing in ex lovers or ex boyfriends!! Seriously, in all 3 of these books the ex's were a pain in the asses that to me, were unnecessary and tiresome. Everyone got their HEA ending and I will not be reading the 4th and 5th books. The 3rd book ended with Sam's and Jared's story and I am happy with that.

Funny and steamy.

Book three played out very similarly to the two previous. Sam and Jerrod have serious obstacles, they must overcome, that threaten their bond and their very lives. Once again, they our attempting to out maneuver Luther’s visions. Unfortunately, there is a massive decrease in the number of living Vampires, in this book. This is due to disease and war. By the end of this book, a whole new world of adventures are introduced. Sam is not only going to be playing the role of the Vampire Queen, she’s going to be the kingdom’s official matchmaker.
I’m excited to move on to the fourth book, of this series, and I can’t wait to see who the next lucky couple is who will get struck by the Cupid’s arrow.

This series is one I have listened to more than once. I really enjoy how the author writes her H.and h. They are always strong independent people with redeeming qualities. I like that her romance has no cheating. There are very steamy scenes. The plotlines in her books (Deep in your veins, The Dark in You, Phoenix Pack) are always unique and keep me engaged. Yes, there are steamy scenes. No the sex scenes do not take up 20 percent of the book. This book wraps up the three book series of Sam and Jarad. Their story wrapped up well. There was lots of action and I read straight through. I'm looking forward to the books about the squad members.

I liked the changing POV in this series. I liked knowing where the main characters were coming from. Initially (in the first book) the switch in narrators based on POV was great when they were voicing their character but the different voice of the Sam and Jarad took getting used to. By this book it was not an issue for me at all. I think both narrators do a great job delivering the perspective of their character in a believable and fun way.

Big fan of thus author

This series is so great. A new and unique take on Vampires and their lives in a human world. Snarky, vengeful badass female vamps and hot as sin males who need to learn to respect them.

Just love it
