About this listen

Disfigured in fighting pits as a lad, Gabriel Sauvageau has lived his entire life without the touch of a woman. As the brains and brawn behind London’s most ferocious smuggling syndicate, he knows he doesn’t deserve shy, bespectacled Felicity Goode. But that doesn’t stop him from watching her. Guarding her. Wondering if her gentle touch would soothe his savage soul.

Though she wiles away hours immersed in the pages of romance novels, shy and anxious Felicity Goode has vowed never to become a bride. How can she share a life - not to mention a bed - with a man if she can’t bring herself to share a simple conversation without trembling and stuttering?

Once news of her obscene inheritance circulates through the ton, she is barraged not only by a slew of suitors, but also several distressing threats against her life. What she needs is a bodyguard. The large, scarred ruffian she finds on her stoop is exactly what she has been looking for. So why does his presence make her tremble in ways that have nothing to do with fear?

Tempting Fate!

I love Kerrigan Byrne and her tortured heroes. Gabriel and Felicia was a terrific couple. I loved this story! And the two narrators were perfect.

Favorit

This has been my favorite so far in the complete series. I was in anticipation of Gabriel and Felicity‘s story. And on it was not disappointed. They were amazing and obviously made for each other. Can’t wait to continue on with the series.

Great book - can’t stand duet narration

Ugh! I really hate the narration in duet - especially when it includes Stella Hunter! Her accent just sounds forced and totally fake. Plus, some of her voices sound so syrupy that it makes me cringe! If this book had been performed solely by Derek Perkins, it would have been a 5 star listen.
If you don’t mind Stella Hunter’s voice and aren’t bothered by duel narration, then “Tempting Fate” is a thoroughly enjoyable listen.
Gabriel and Felicity’s story was both sweet and sexy. It also had a decent mystery with a nice twist in the end.

Exciting

I hesitated getting this book, but I’m glad I finally did. My only confusion is the incorrect description of the characters and plot of this book. Wolfe is not a character in this book nor is Felicity the woman described as his nemesis.

Wonderful book and wonderfully narrated

I LOVE dual narration! It adds to the passion of the book. And the book is already a five star one!

Testing

I’ve written a review 12 times and it won’t post. Stella and Derek in DUET! And she’s British perfection!

Been Waiting for this HEA since Book One!

4 out of 5 wine glasses.

I thoroughly enjoyed Felicity and Gabriel's story and even though this HEA has been building up since the beginning of series, I think this book moved a bit too quickly and could have used a little more development and I'll never complain about a Kerrigan Byrne book being too long, so I would've liked 50-100 pages more. However, since I was curious as to how the series would continue since all of the sisters have found their HEA's, I'm super stoked at how the author worked that out and can't wait to read the following books!

Re: DEREK PERKINS I LOVE YOU!

ME TOO! Whether he's the Scot Chief Justice Ramsay, a rogue brother Savageau, the scarred Duke of Redmayne and sooo many hot guys by Ms. Byrne, I love Derek Perkins. Growling, snarling, fierce or whispering, flirting and cursing... the old guy has got the chops I adore.

Stella Hunter, well, I didn't care for her as much. I would have chosen Bianca Amato for these duet books.

Derek Perkins! I love you!

I’m a huge Kerrigan Byrne/Perkins fan and this book was no exception. Hunter did well but I can listen to Derek endlessly. The emotional rendering in his telling was beautiful and I need the next installment asap!

Excellent

This is one of the historicals I revisit kinda regularly. It’s just the sort of things I like in a romance, and it’s nice all over again each time.
