About this listen

It's no longer a game. The body count is rising. Shaken by recent events, Amy and Dan flee to a distant land and trace the footsteps of their most formidable ancestor yet: a military leader of mythic proportions.

Yet just as the siblings begin to master the art of ancient warfare, they confront a dangerous enemy that can't be felled with a sword: the truth. With the stakes higher than ever, Amy and Dan uncover something so devastating it changes everything - the secret of their family branch.

More is revealed

More is being revealed and there is a lot of nuance to the story now. Amy and Dan are learning that the world is rarely black and white. The narration and overall production are excellent.

people can change

In the beginning Amy and Dan don't have a clue about where to go next, and they had just barely escaped another fire. Amy is still sad thinking about who just saved them and the loss of another family member has the body count climbing, and Amy really trying to figure out what happened to their parents. Now they find their way into Africa and what they come across, has them wondering if their parents were good people or bad. They come to be friend some strangers who were very close to Grace their grandmother, they are still getting help from their grandmother and they know that she would want them to continue on with the search for the 39 clues. In the end they find out which branch of the family they belong to by reading a journal that Grace was keeping in her African home. What I really like about these books are how interesting and intriguing the suspense is, they keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next to the kids and what will they learn next.. After each book there is a bonus too that is always good extra information the reader knows.
