Publisher's summary

Gideon Coxall was a good soldier but bad at everything else, until a roadside explosive device leaves him with one deaf ear and a British Army half-pension. So when he hears about the Valhalla Project, it’s like a dream come true. They’re recruiting former service personnel for excellent pay, no questions asked, to take part in unspecified combat operations. The last thing Gid expects is to find himself fighting alongside ancient Viking gods. The world is in the grip of one of the worst winters it has ever known, and Ragnarök - the fabled final conflict of the Sagas - is looming.

Hail Odin!!

Absolutely loved the modernization of the Norse Pantheon. James Lovegrove has moved to my favorite authors list for this installment alone.

Just one more chapter...

This was literally what I told myself every night before I realized 5 chapters had passed.

The best of the series so far

The ending could have gone another way but, I saw that coming with the foreshadowing. All in all an outstanding story.

Not for me. YMMV

Really liked the first two “Age of” books and was really enjoying this one...until the end. No spoilers, but there is one ending trope that really makes me regret ever investing my time into a series/movie/book and this was it. I know I’m more neurotic than the average person so I don’t want to put someone off of what others might find to be an amazing book. Andy knocks it out of the park again with the narration, and the story really sucks you in...but eff this ending. Still love you James, I’m just seeing red at the moment.

ending ruined it

A terrible ending ruined it. literally made what had been up until the last thirteen minutes a fun action filled ride with likeable characters meaningless. yes, i get the ending. no that doesn't make it better. seriously? skip this book.
