The Angry Tide
is the seventh audiobook in Winston Graham's classic Poldark saga, now a major TV series from Masterpiece on PBS. This riveting audiobook will appeal to fans of historical fiction everywhere.

Cornwall, towards the end of the 18th century. Ross Poldark sits for the borough of Truro as Member of Parliament—his time divided between London and Cornwall, his heart divided about his wife, Demelza.

His old feud with George Warleggan still flares—as does the illicit love between Morwenna and Drake, Demelza's brother.

Before the new century dawns, George and Ross will be drawn together by a loss greater than their rivalry—and Morwenna and Drake by a tragedy that brings them hope . . . .

And with the new century comes much change in the shocking seventh installment of Winston Graham's Poldark series, The Angry Tide.

Critic reviews

"Narrator Oliver Hembrough enhances Winston Graham's stellar writing in this seventh installment of a 12-part series...Hembrough effectively delivers the vivid descriptions of Poldark's two different lives, one in cosmopolitan London and the other in Truro, where the peace of the countryside is a welcome change for him. ... embrough's skill at building suspense will terrify listeners...In contrast, a heartbreaking love letter and the recipient's prayers to God will bring tears." “From the incomparable Winston Graham. . . who has everything that anyone else has, and then a whole lot more.” —Guardian

“A distinct pleasure and outstanding in the genre.” –Kirkus Reviews

Angry Relationships in 'Angry Tide'

Love the series, but this was not my favorite book. Some situations seemed too contrived, others not brought to a satisfying conclusion.

Yet another enthralling dose of Poldark by Graham.

Poetically descriptive storytelling using well-developed characters and unpredictable, dynamic plotlines. Poldark series is a MUST read for historical fiction enthusiasts. A little bit of EPIC romance never hurts either!

One of the Best of the Poldark Series

How Wonderful was the language and the descriptions of every detail that Winston Graham used for The Angry Tide. One could get lost in the Beautiful words and sentences that Mr. Graham gave. He must have been at his peak while writing this book. I also compliment the Narrator’s voice. Well done, Oliver J. Hembrough.

The saga continues

The Poldark story continues in this next installment. You would think that there couldn't be any more to write about, but the story gets more and more engaging. I feel like I know all of these characters. Winston Graham is a real story teller and Oliver Hembrough is incredible. I know who is in the conversation just by his narrative and representation of their voices. I love this series. Audible 20 Review Sweepstakes Entry
