A KILLER WHO KNOWS HIS TRADE

'Gerritsen was a medic before she turned to writing, and her book contains enough grisly details to put you off hospitals for life. But if you like your crime medicine strong, this will keep you gripped' MAIL ON SUNDAY

A series of horrific murders seem disturbingly familiar to Detective Jane Rizzoli. They remind her and Forensic Pathologist Maura Isles of those committed by a killer known as The Surgeon, who they recently put behind bars.

While they’re still trying to track down the new killer, the unthinkable happens: The Surgeon escapes. Suddenly, Jane is chasing not one but two brilliant and twisted minds, united by one goal...

Another masterpiece

It is a great story if one can get past the narrator pronouncing Rizzoli as RiTzoli.

Narrator mispronounces Rizzoli

The story is good and the narrator give good performance aside from calling Rizzoli “RITZolli”… hard to tolerate having seen the show first, but good narration aside from that. Also the editing repeats twenty or thirty second a couple of times throughout.

"The Surgeon"

Entertaining second book in the Rizzoli and Isles Series. In this book Dr. Ashford Tierney retires and we're introduced to a new medical examiner, Dr. Maura Isles. A young attractive woman that the cops have nicknamed The Queen of The Dead. Rizzoli is called to a scene in Newton by Detective Korsak because a crime scene has part of The Surgeon's signature although the rest of the crime is very different. They call this unsub The Dominator because his M.O. is to surprise sleeping married couples in bed, restrain the man and make him watch while he assaults the wife and then kills the man and kidnaps the wife. When they find the wife's remains, along with another victim Rizzoli meets another law enforcement officer, Gabriel Dean from the FBI who is assisting with their investigation but she doesn't quite trust. Then Warren Hoyt escapes from custody and joins forces with The Dominator.

Anna Fields was very good with the delivery of the story.
