Publisher's summary

The Ark War has begun.

War on a scale not seen in this sun-cycle has begun. Nox and his demonic army were thwarted at the Proto-Ark, but not before forging the tool that will hasten the destruction of the world. The Grey Men have a Primary Access Key, and are ready to bring their masters home. The Builders are coming.

Millions of deathless surround Jordan in the broken Ark of the Mother. The only thing standing between Lima and destruction is the last god anyone wants to trust...Irakesh. Jordan follows Sobek to Australia in search of allies, but what lurks there predates humanity.

Blair and Trevor spearhead a desperate gambit to alter time and save the Mother from her death at The First Ark. To do that they need powerful allies. The time has come to wake Jes'ka, so that she can train Liz in the ways of the Ka-Ken. If Blair and Trevor succeed, then ensuring Set doesn't return to the present falls upon them.

But there is a spy in their midst. The Builders are far, far closer than anyone suspects.

Deathless series is a TREASURE!! I love Chris Fox.

Every book I’ve ‘listened’ to by Chris Fox has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. This guy writes how my brain thinks, and he tickles my imagination from space travel to deep scientific and philosophical thoughts. I love how Deathless has unraveled, and I’m VERY excited to see how the series wraps up.
I urge anyone who is finishing this series to also check out The Magitech Chronicles (a high-octane non-stop adventure, which also introduced an at-home RPG board game of the same title), and finally the series Void Wraith, which also deeply satisfies the imagination.
Thank you sincerely to Chris Fox and to Ryan Kennard Burke, for both are one of the best teammates for an Author and a Narrator matchup. You guys have made this year bearable and beyond spectacular, my real heroes. Keep up the great work gentleman!

Can't wait for the finale

Worth the wait on all counts; July 2021 can't get here soon enough.

The foreword claims that this is part of the Magitech extended universe and you certainly get to see that in this book. I hope the next one shows us more of that and ties into that series.

Love this series!

You'd think a story with werewolves, vampires, zombies, demons, aliens, and dinosaurs wouldn't work, but Chris Fox makes it work. Love the action and the comedic spots! The narrator does an awesome job with the voices.

Great story for sci fi fans

The series is great, this book did not disappoint though left me wanting to read book 6. Problem is book 6 is not out yet. Highly recommend this series if you are looking for a good read.

Huge disappointment (spoilers)

Where to even begin? First, prior to this book, this was one of my favorite series and I was eagerly awaiting this one. The author says he did a ton of historical research for this book and it shows. In fact, I'd say 90% of the book is boring exposition. Almost nothing worthwhile happened up until chapter 40 or so. Time travel became a big deal in this book and is dumb, as it always is when time travel gets shoehorned into a story it wasn't in originally. It does not fit. The entire temporal shaping thing is dumb. The plan the main characters built around temporal shaping is dumb, especially considering the warnings about it in the book. It's supposed to be incredibly dangerous and difficult, requiring a master shaper (thousands-millions of years of practice) so you don't break reality, but Blaire can just do it after a few days of poor research. Also, Set should've been grabbed by the things outside the universe while traversing the portal or got shoved back in with Blaire easing up on maintaining the portal so the things grabbed him. That would've been WAY more interesting than Anput stabbing him with a builder weapon.

The deus ex machina of Uluru is dumb. The dinosaur stuff is dumb. The fights involving Jordan after he gets a new dinosaur form are dumb and silly, especially if you imagine them as written. The whole thing about moving people to Australia was dumb and felt like filler to extend the book. The jokes don't land. The main characters are not interesting anymore. They've all lost their luster. Something in the writing now makes them so much less. I found I couldn't bring myself to care about almost any of them in this book and it mainly focuses on characters that are not as important anyway. Same with the villains. They don't stand out anymore. They're just whatever now. The writing quality itself also took a plunge. I know it's been years since the last one, but the writing feels very rushed and like there was no read through for quality control.

This should've been the last book with a ton of awesome action. Instead, it was a bunch of boring and silly crap that wasted my time. I don't think I'll be coming back to this series. It feels like the author forgot what the series was about, then got carried away in history stuff, and then dumbed down the book to target preteens or something. Getting through this book was a slog and I'll be putting in for a refund on this one. Only the second book I've finished that I've done that with in several years of using Audible.
