About this listen

Experts in the art of stealing time, Travellers live on the edge of both mortal and immortal realms. But a few fight their outlaw instincts.

Gwenhwyfar Byron Owens learned everything she knows about potions and spells from her two Wiccan moms, who are forbidden by Otherworld laws to teach magic to mortals. But when their latest transgression results in the kidnapping of a mortal woman, Gwen figures the only place to hide them all is in Summerland, the Wiccan afterlife. But Gregory Faa - a member of the Watch - is hot on their heels. A Traveller who has stolen time, he's eager to prove himself worthy of the Watch, only he has a past with the dark-eyed Welsh beauty he's been charged with bringing to justice. He's tempted to just let Gwen disappear into Summerland until he realizes that she's being pursued by a squad of goons "and" death's minions. Gwen is used to taking care of her moms and herself, so she can't give in to her heart's demand to trust Gregory, despite the fact that he's as handsome as the day is long - and the days in Summerland last centuries.

Bravo

Wonderful listening experience. Funny and romantic just what you expect from author Katie Mac. I love Celeste Cuilla's style, she makes the characters as endearing or as annoying as they should be great read.

Loved the story, not as fond of the narrator.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Art of Stealing Time to be better than the print version?

I loved listening to the book, but I think I would have preferred to read it. The narration was disjointed, pausing at odd times. The story was great, but the flow of the narration distracted from the story.

What other book might you compare The Art of Stealing Time to and why?

This was another entertaining and passionate story from Katie MacAlister. It left me wanting read more from the series.

What aspect of Celeste Ciulla’s performance would you have changed?

Celeste Ciulla has a great voice, but she needs to focus less on trying to change her voice for each character and more on improving her flow of narration. She paused at the oddest places, making it difficult to follow at times

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I loved the characters, the oddities of the people in the story, and the combination of laughter and seduction that Katie MacAlister presented.

Not surprised there weren't any more in this serie

I’m not one much for romance, but have enjoyed the world introduced with Aisling, then May then Ysolde in the Dragon books (not as pleased with the last four however). This series takes place in the same universe. The first book in the series, Time Theft, was decent. This one however, is simply lame. It starts out decent enough, then takes a left turn into wonder land and the story goes from bad to worse from there. And really doesn’t get back onto solid footing until the last chapter. One of my ‘not worth having wasted the time listening’ books.
