About this listen

Dragon hunter wanted: sword supplied. No experience necessary.

One moment, I was a normal (if somewhat germaphobic) math teacher getting ready for summer vacation. Then my sister died in a pile of black ash, leaving me with a sword...and her destiny as dragon hunter. It turns out there's a whole other world out there filled with demons, dragons, and spirits. Now my job is to protect mortals - and I haven't got a clue what I'm doing.

Then there's tattooed hotness Ian Iskander. Part dragon hunter and part demon, Ian's got some seriously creepy business associates and keeps trying to steal my sword. So why do we keep getting lost in hungry, crazy-hot kisses?

Ian is the only person who can help me figure out who - and what - I am. But trusting a half-demon is dangerous...because when you play with dragon fire, someone always gets burned.

Such a fun, lighthearted story. The narrator is incredible and is awesome at individualizing each character. Can't wait to "read" the second book!

So much fun! I am in LOVE w/the narrator!

I loved the story. I'm sorry but I did not like the narrator. She sounded very monotone through it, or robotic.

A slow start, I got somewhat irritated by her winniness at the beginning but It did help to understand her eventual growth. it ended nicely, and had a bit of hotness to it.

interesting

This is my second listen through of this book and I honestly enjoyed it even more. I love Ronnie and Ian and Teresita is a shining example of a ride or die friend. the narrator is also great. She really expresses the quirky sides of the characters. Loved it!

Worth multiple reads

I have generally enjoyed all books Katie Mac but I had a very difficult time making it through to the end of this one. I was determined to finish listening but it took MANY starts and stops over a lot of days and nights. I found the narration substandard, to say the least. Staccato. I would not recommend purchasing this book in audible format.

I don't recall ever submitting a review for any book but...

It’s like the author has an idea for a story and forgot to write it down. Improper development is only slightly better than the reader who has the presence of a dial tone. Quit!

Huh? Dial tone

... But I'm going to see if I can anyway. 2.5 hours in and I'm done. I should have trusted myself at 30 minutes in. Generally I just need a character I like somewhere in a book and I'm good. But this book has no characters -- only caricatures. The ditsy, neurotic "heroine"; the chatty, pushy sidekick; the demonic, hedonistic villain; the dismissive, tortured "hero"; the air-headed apprentice. I disliked every one of them. Even the narrator who I like very much narrating Glynn Stewarts "Duchy of Terra" series got on my nerves.

Who knows, maybe its better when read rather than listened to, but honestly? I don't see how.

It's probably too late to return...
