Contents:
"The Final Problem": Orson Welles makes a guest appearance in the role of the master criminal, Professor Moriarty, in his final meeting with arch-enemy Sherlock Holmes.

"The Empty House": The proverb "Dead men tell no tales" is proved untrue when Holmes returns to mete out justice to the last of the Moriarty gang.

Editorial reviews

With voices in the peak of form, two of England’s greatest actors headline classic performances of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories.

Sir John Gielgud as the brilliant detective Holmes and Sir Ralph Richardson as his partner-against-crime Dr. Watson star in four BBC radio productions. Included in this volume are "The Yatsley Case", in which Holmes investigates a stabbing; "The Blue Carbuncle", which features a goose as a jewel thief; "The Final Problem", a production also starring Orson Welles, as Professor Moriarty, in the tale of the last meeting of arch-enemies; and "The Empty House", which highlights the machinations of a presumed-dead Holmes.

I enjoyed listening to Volumes 1-4 so much. These audible adventures helped me realize what old time radio performances were like in the good old days of the past. Fantastic.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would have been proud. Sadly, I can't say the same for his estate since they did not receive the royalties they would have otherwise. Bravo for the new writers creativity!

Wonderful stories

See above. Some stories cut off violin somewhat annoying. Otherwise very good. Worth it if you have unused credits.

Some stories cut off excellent dramatizations but annoying violin.
