About this listen

The Black Moon is the fifth novel in Winston Graham's sweeping series of Cornwall, Poldark.

Cornwall, 1794. The birth of a son to Elizabeth and George Warleggan serves only to accentuate the rift between the Poldark and Warleggan families. And when Morwenna Chynoweth, now governess to Elizabeth's eldest son, grows to love Drake Carne, Demelza's brother, the enduring rivalry between George and Ross finds a new focus for bitter enmity and conflict.

"From the incomparable Winston Graham...who has everything that anyone else has, then a whole lot more." ( Guardian)

This book jumps almost a year from the last book and has some new characters. Ross is maturing as is Delmelsa although we don't get to see much of her in this book. The French Revolution is a big theme in this book but the book falls almost into a romance novel. Nice, but not as good as the first few books. Almost a joiner between books and there is only good for Ross as he regains lost ground from the last few years. Not a bad book, but not the best.
