About this listen

A large country mansion. A locked room. A gruesome murder.

Russian oligarch Alexander Volkov has invited 1,000 guests to a party at his palatial Surrey residence, Westgrave Hall. But while giving a private tour of the library, a gunman kills Volkov, wounding his ex-wife and slaying her new beau. Nothing makes sense to DCI Craig Gillard. In the blood-spattered crime scene there are no forensic traces of anyone else involved, CCTV shows no one entered or left the library, and everyone seems to have an alibi. Is it a crime of revenge, the squaring of a love triangle, or a Russian government operation? Could the victims have simply shot each other? Gillard’s eventual discovery is shocking even to him.

A gripping crime thriller from a master of the genre, The Bodies at Westgrave Hall will leave you guessing until the very end.

Wow! Best One of the Series!

The 8th book (The Body on the Moor) ended so abruptly in an unsatisfying way but this one (the 7th - didn’t mean to read them out of order!) was interesting, engaging, dynamic, and unpredictable (well, some of it was predictable…men being manipulated). I enjoyed this one!

Dragged out way to long

Again, too many characters with too little characters . I have been a fan for a while, but this is the end for Guildart and me…….

This should be a movie

This author has incredible imagination and does his research superbly. I have read a lot of mysteries, but this author stumps me every time. I can get close but there is always a twist at the end. Looking back you think to yourself why didn’t I think of that. All of this series would make great cinema. It would be expensive but so worth it. I just want to say thank you to everyone involved, for so many hours of enjoyment. The narrator is the best one I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Keeps you guessing

It kept me guessing the entire book. Lots of false trail laid, but it all makes sense in the end. Enjoyable listen

Best one yet

This book was my favorite of all I have read so far. I started the series at Number 1. The previous books were good if a little disjointed at times, this one kept me going and interested. I am looking forward to the next in the Series.

Such a complicated plot, very intriguing.

Loved the twists and turns. Keeps you guessing thinking this one did it, no this one did it. That makes it fun.

Reluctant review

I skipped the written component to review of books 2-5 primarily because I wanted to continue my Deep Binge of the series without stopping to reflect on the perfection of rack work. Part of me reaches for elegant. interesting ways to convey Why the book is worth someone’s time and money. Yet with this series u am at a loss solely because it is So. Darn. Good.
I love these books and highly recommend
