Publisher's summary

From the best-selling author of The Intention Experiment and The Field comes a groundbreaking new work---a book that uses the interconnectedness of mind and matter to demonstrate that the key to life is in the relationship between things. We are always connected with others, hardwired at our most elemental level---from the quantum level to the cellular, from personal relationships to business and societal structures.

This belief is at the core of Lynne McTaggart's The Bond, the result of her extensive research with frontier scientists in prestigious centers around the world, working in physics, biology, psychology, and the other social sciences. The world essentially operates through relationships: within the space between things. The essential impulse of all life is a will to connect. As in The Intention Experiment, McTaggart synthesizes scientific findings into a single theory: that all matter exists in a dynamic relationship of cooperation. In addition to offering a new scientific paradigm, McTaggart offers guidelines and many inspiring case studies of living in partnership with the universe---how to relate more cooperatively, form a new model of community, and find a purpose. Rousing, timely, uplifting, and practical,The Bond offers nothing less than a new way to live in harmony with our true nature.

Another Winner By Lynne McTaggart

I read all of Lynne's books and am a committed participant in her Intention Experiments.

Like many Americans I long for a deeper connection to others and to my community amid a busy life. In The Bond, Lynne combines research on the benefits of social connection with examples of individuals and groups whose projects bring people together in sometimes unexpected ways.

The stories of peoples' efforts toward greater connection leave me inspired, with a sense that this does take committed effort. Bonds between individuals and groups will not just happen. They take work. But as Lynne's stories suggest, the effort can produce immensely satisfying experiences for those involved.

The audio version is unabridged, well read, and in my view, worth a listen.

The Bond: Connecting Through the Space Between Us

Lynne McTaggart has hit the nail right on the head with this one. She has summed up the meaning of who we are, and more importantly why we are. Her investigation into this subject is so deep and thorough. However, the narrator, Karen White, is impossible to listen to for more than five minutes at a time. Her intonations are intolerable. Unfortunately, I had to buy the actual book to finish the enthralling content of The Bond.

Horrible narrator

Karen White is excruciating to listen to. I don't think I will be able to get through the second part of this book. She puts emphasis in all the wrong places - almost as if she didn't understand English and had memorized how to pronounce the text so she could regurgitate it! I read Lynne McTaggart's first two books and I think I will have to buy "The Bond" in print too.

Latest social and cultural scientific findings

The Intention Experiment and The Field were more in line with what was a new-age stage a lot of us were going through. There seems to be some recoiling from the extremes of new age-isms and some balancing going on - examining science - and even in science there is some movement to a middle ground where scientists are considering Consciousness.

The Bond seems to reflect a pulling back from a new age tone - although Lynn Mctaggert was more science based than other authors in the same group of authors we all read at the time - and this book is one science discovery after another - with social and cultural meaning and implications extracted.

It's interesting to see humanity's current condition and what appears to be a rapid evolution. Lynn McTaggert has made some fascinating connections and observations and the book is a positive experience.

The narration was fine.

Lynne McTaggart always interesting

What did you love best about The Bond?

I love how she uses lots of interesting scientific studies. Very interesting book about bonding in all sorts of relationship studies, with animals and humans...I rate it third in her books but it's still very good. I read the Intention Experiment first...and well this is not a must read but if you get around to it you will learn a lot of interesting science that is going on...

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Lynn should have read her own book this time too....like she did her others...they did find someone who mimics her ok but it still isn't her and when an author that speaks well and clearly reads their own book it adds a lot to the book..I really realized this to be very true with all the books I have listened too. I think I have listened too over 250 books now..unfortunately for audible I did get a lot of audio books elsewhere. But I have upgraded my account so I not limited to one credit a month. I bought all my credits for the year and I may buy 4 at a time..and I only buy books that are over like 10 ish dollars and I pay with debit card for books I really want to read that are like $5-9 dollars...with my plan my books cost me $9.00 so I try to buy the more expensive ones first and then I decide how important it is to read a $10.00 to $14-15 book. I forget how many books I started off with but I paid like $250 ? and now I only have 5 credits left for the year...BOO. I going through my credits to fast but it is now my second favorite hobby...I am recovering from a major illness so I don't get out much. LOL but now I more well read then I ever imagined I ever would be. I never read before audible. Never the time. Now i can read while waiting for an appointing, in the car, as I go to sleep, when I wake up, just anytime. It's helping my recovering from a brain injury where I couldn't read at all....doctors are impressed.

What three words best describe Karen White???s performance?

she was ok, she sounded like L.M. at times but since she didn't write it you can tell, I can tell anyway because I have listened to L.M. others books MANY MANY TIMES. Ex the INTENTION EXPERIMENT was her best book I think and I have re listened to it so many times I can't tell you..some reasons are because I fall asleep listening and I have to go back or I just want to make sure I remember everything and I enjoy the books so much I will re-listen.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction. I will say I learned things I didn't know so that is always cool but I haven't gone around going to my friend OMG this is the best book you have to read it...like I do with others books...her best books is the INTENTION EXPERIMENT and the other book is cool too but yeah...that's about that.

Any additional comments?

This was not her best book but it's a should read and you will learn a lot since it's based on scientific data. I learned a lot. I didn't enjoy the person reading it as my as Ms Lynne M. speaking.

A journey to connection

Lynne takes us on a journey from the micro to the macro connections that make up life and everything. We learn that functional connections dominate. We learn that happiness is positive connections. I went through the book twice to make sure I got the point. The bond is how we all exist.

She leaves it to the reader to discern the overall direction and system of connections. Maybe this is a book you will write. Is there purpose to it all?

Good wrap up of the previous books.

I liked the demonstrations of people utilizing, experimenting, and rediscovering the bond. I'm a firm believer that living connected was and is how life was intended to be lived. Hearing how effective yet simple it is to open those doors is inspirational.

Concepts that Lynne has shared here sink in slowly

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I have seen Lynne speak and share a like minded view, however, it took many times of listening to weave it all together. The greatest insight came when I investigated the "philosophy" of Ayn Rand. Now I got it!!!

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

She reveals the antidote to that self centered, twisted thinking that has so influenced some political and social direction. It is a great read for deep thinkers that want to reach a spiritual, purposeful and interconnected life.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

It was almost unbearable to listen to the narrator. I often opted to go back and read passages from the printed copy. I do not think she expressed the character and enthusiasm of Lynne AT ALL. Her voice and inflections were absolutely irritating. I wish Lynne had read this herself!

Was The Bond worth the listening time?

I would advise people to read it rather than listen.
