Publisher's summary

Fake boyfriends are hard work. When 16-year-old Bella’s dream boy asks her to be his fake girlfriend, Bella does the unthinkable. She says yes. The rules are simple. Two weeks, no kissing, and a few big lies. But things turn complicated when Bella begins to develop feelings for her fake boyfriend's brother.

Can Bella get out of her fake relationship and into a real one without exposing her lies or destroying her friendships? The Boyfriend Agreement is funny, emotional, and wonderfully romantic. It’s a tale of one girl's journey to help her friends and find love, all without losing herself.

Sweet high school romance!

I just finished listening to "The Boyfriend Agreement" and LOVED it. It was such a sweet story and I loved the storyline, including hearing how the good kids actually can have a voice and end up ahead. Lindsey's voice was the perfect fit for the book and so fun to listen to. I love when I find a narrator I enjoy, because it makes the book so much more enjoyable. I always describe the experience as being a cross between a book and a movie, just because the voices help you to get to know the characters even better. I just realized the book is one within a series, St. Mary's Academy. Yeah!! I hate when a good book ends and love when I learn there is more. Can't wait to read more! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Well...

Okay so... the narrator was great. BUT the story itself was... predictable. Predictable and obvious. Realistically there is no way she wouldn’t have known he liked her.

I would like to listen to more from this narrator, but I am not so sure I enjoyed the story itself.

Wanted to like it more than I did

At the beginning of the book, I kept thinking how does this girl not realize that the boy likes her? It’s very obvious. But I was fine with overlooking that. In the middle it got really good. I was hooked, I was excited to see where it was going to go, and I liked the couple who we were rooting for. But with two hours left to go in the audiobook, I wanted to strangle her. I significantly speeded up the narration and was shaking my fist and yelling at thin air while preparing lunch. It was so clearly obvious what she needed to do for a long time and she kept acting as if she had no choice, which she did. It was really annoying. The end was sweet, and I enjoyed it. But I was too annoyed at that point to fully enjoy it. If helplessness doesn’t bother you, then go for this book because I really did enjoy the rest. But if you are someone like me who starts yelling “grow a spine”, this may not be the best book for you.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Narration good! Story OK!

Narrator was good and made Bella sound how I expected her to sound. However, the story was only okay! Every thing that happened I was able to predict from the moment it happened. I was not surprised even one time. I kept asking several times how she could be so naive. I did love Cole though! His character was the best part of the story! The book ending was good and lead into the next book. However, I personally will not be finishing the rest of the series.

Great Read

The Boyfriend Agreement (St. Mary's Academy #1) was a good read by Seven Steps. Bella French is a high school junior who has great grades and a non existent social calendar. Jake Winstead, the most popular guy in school, asks her to be his fake girlfriend and she said yes. But Jake’s twin brother is her arch nemesis, Cole Winstead. For two years, they have been at each other’s throats and now they’re paired up for a school project. She never thought that sparks would fly between them or that he would start to change his ways. Bella finds herself stuck between the two brothers. I loved reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Full of Heart

heartfelt, filled with emotion that you can actually see being played out in today's world. So heavy and light that you feel like you ate on a trampoline. You learn about poetry, history, and yet their is a blend of current times. You find yourself standing behind Bella pushing her forward.

Clean High school romance

This book is OK and not what I expected. Younger audience would love it.
The main character I did not like, I felt like shaking her at times and some scenes were not realistic.
If I was a lot younger I would have loved this book.

All about target audience!

Performance:
Lindsey Dorcus was amazing in her narration of this novel. She even sang a few lines which I have never heard in a book before!

Story:
This is where I wish I was 10 years old and still dreaming of fairy tales. Bella was just so naive, and I honestly couldn’t believe she was second in her school. I wanted to pull her out of the book and talk some sense into her. The writing was good but even as someone who reads/listens to YA was still out of my zone. That being said, I think this book would be lovely for anyone in the age rage 10-15.

Overall:
Lindsey did a killer job and aside from the story line I enjoyed Sevens writing style. A solid 3 out of 5 stars for me.

Really predictable

I like the narrator, but the story per se is predictable and sometimes I got really annoyed with the main female characterter.
