About this listen

College, cookies, capers, oh my!

Daisy Payton has everything. Exceptional grades. Impeccable clothes. Model family.

But perfection comes at a high cost, and Daisy is wilting. Determined to use college as her chance to bloom anew, she's focused on only one thing, leaving the Payton name behind and forging her own path - even if she has to tell the teeniest of fibs to do it.

Trevor Boone has nothing. Abandoned as a child. Raised by distant relatives. Constantly reminded he's a burden.

Trevor's lived at the edges of opulence for years, having all he's ever desired dangled just out of reach. But his ambition is finally about to pay off, and nothing will distract him from his goal - finishing college top of his class and starting life, on his own terms.

When Daisy and Trevor meet, it's clear from the start that they'll tempt each other to distraction. Can they learn to put their ambitions aside and fall, or will they lose it all?

Contains mature themes.

Pure Bliss

This story was pure bliss!
A spectacular story!
Upsy Daisy is stellar!

First love, college, new friends, secrets, promises, joy, fun, shock, HEA...its all here.
I hope Chelsie Edwards writes more within this frame, I'm a child of the 70's so the fashion and music are right up my alley!!
The narration was perfect. Mari and Leon Nixon gave each character their own individual identity, their interpretations were uplifting and magic and fun.

Do yourself a bloody favor and get this book!

Exceptional! As good as a real Penny Reid book

I LOVED IT! This is the backstory to how Green Valley's Daisy's Donuts 🍩 😋.

FINALLY, WRITING WORTHY OF THE REID STAMP! So ffar I have read 7 Smartypants books. This is my eighth. This book is the 1st I would classify as well written. The plot is wonderful. it is a tiny bit of a trip down memory lane but the college experiences & love affairs are just as relevant today. The story is interesting, engaging, funny & heartfelt. And best of all it is sooo romantic! It took me back to meeting my first love in college and all the drama that went with it.
I imagine the outstanding narrative performances added to the value as well. Both actors were stellar. I was in the story the entire read. I was back at Green Valley. I HIGHLY reccommend this book and author. I hope she continues to write the backstories from the Winston Brothers series. There were so many answered to earlier unasked questions. I can't wait to visit Daisey, Dolly, Bethany and the whole earlier generations again... soon!

Love finding more about Green Valley characters

I have listened to all the books available in the Green Valley world and came across this one. I love how you get to see where Daisy and Trevor began. A good listen over all. The female narrator did a great job, the male narrator had a click or something to his voice that came through on my air pods and was very distracting...it was like he couldn't swallow his spit and you could hear it in the narration

Listen to Upsy Daisy!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A book set in the 70’s but very relatable to the present. I also loved the readers voices.

Daisy and Trevor

A refreshing story of finding not only friendships and love, but getting answers to the hard questions. Trevor always wondered why he spend his time growing up with Jules, not his family. Daisy, wanted a life hidden from the high profile name of Payton.
The story flowed effortlessly and was a great book. I was intrigued at ever turn. Now I need to find out about James, Jules, Odie and Charles

Deep sigh

This story was random. Why do a full length book on random characters that make a small appearance in the Winston series? This book was very odd to me. A spin-off that didn’t need to happen. This could’ve been a blurb in Simone and Roscoe’s story. The narrators were fine but the story was so anticlimactic and humorless. The real tragedy was this cost a credit.

Not a typical romance...More of a coming of age story.

l am on the fence...l like some parts and dislike the rest. l really hated the ending...after spending far too much time focusing on other details...the ending just fell off...Also, there were many ,many wholes and unanswered questions! l don't know if there will be a part 2 or not...if so, l may check it out .Only if part 2 picks up were this one ended. As for narration...this is the type of story that fits Leon Nixon very well...he did a great job bring Trevor to life...As for Mari, she was ok...l still have a problem listening to her do these teenage and young adult female characters...her voice is just too mature! Daisy is supposed to be an eighteen year old college student...not at woman in her 40's or 50's. lf you like long slow paced coming of age stories than this is for you.
