About this listen

Trailer park born and raised. It's my legacy. That's how my mama lived. And that's how her mama lived. It's the life I was born into and it's the life I swore I would leave the second I was old enough to make it out.

Only legacies have a funny way of sneaking up on you. An innocent decision the night of high school graduation led to a series of complications in my plans to escape.

Seven years later, I've resigned myself to this small town and the roots I'm tied to. Nothing could make me leave. And nothing could make me spill the secrets that keep me here. Until he walks back into town with a chip on his shoulder and a stupid hunch nobody else in town has been smart enough to follow.

Levi Cole is my opposite. Born on the right side of the tracks with family money to spare, he's the kind of black sheep that can afford to be rebellious - because his family will always pay for his mistakes. He's also the only living heir to Cole Family Farms, after his brother Logan was killed in duty seven years ago.

He sees something in my life that he thinks he has a right to. But he's wrong. And obnoxious. And he needs to take his stubborn good looks and that intense way he looks at me and go back to wherever it was he came from.

I know better than to trust men like him. I was born and raised in a trailer park, I know nothing good happens to girls like me - girls with trailer park lives and trailer park hearts. Especially from gorgeous, kind, pigheaded men like him.

Contains mature themes.

Very good but very narrative

Love the story so much. Description is great. But there is SO MUCH narrative description of present story, back story, everything, instead of revealing through dialogue. Made it drag.

Slow Burn Romance

Wonderful story that pulls at your heart. Easy to empathize with the main character, be irritated with some of her actions and root for the possibility of a "happily ever after".

Let me get my tissues!!

I’m not normally one to cry when listening to a book. But this book took me by surprise. I cried so hard for the last couple of chapters. It was an emotional but incredible book to listen to. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Recommend checking out

I've fallen in love with yet another Rachel Higginson book! Trailer Park Heart tugs at the heart strings right away with the prologue. There were so many moments throughout this book that I smiled or laughed, got frustrated with Ruby but also felt a strong connection to her thought process and the reasons behind the walls she put up against everyone. I shed a tear or two as my heart strings got tugged on, and I swooned and melted because of Levi Cole. And Max, I just adore him. I loved this book and the journey these characters went on in order to get to where they were at the end. It's a book I know I'll read again. I highly recommend this book.

Such a good and easy listen!

I’ve always been a fan of Higginson. All of her work so far has been great. This is the first non-fantasy I’ve experienced from her and I’ve got to say I’m here for it. I also love how this was more Adult with a solid spice level of 🌶️🌶️ and an amazing slow burn. I think the only draw back was how focused the MC was on her past high school experiences and how she let it color so much of her life going forward but I guess 25 isn’t so far away from 18 and I can let that slide. Great character growth thankfully so that more than made up for it. Also, I love me a happy ending. So if your looking for an easy read then this is it!
