About this listen

I fell for Connor Drake. I didn't want to; I fought against it, but I fell in love with him anyway. With his words. With his poetry. With him. The gentleness and beauty of his soul that speaks directly to mine. He writes as if he can feel my heart, hear its cadence and compose the exact right lyrics to accompany every beat and flow.

I'm in love with Connor...so why do I feel an inexplicable pull to his best friend, Weston? Grouchy, sullen, brooding Weston Turner, who could cut you down with a look. Fiercely intelligent with a razor sharp wit and acid tongue, he's the exact opposite of Connor in every way, and yet there's electricity in the air between us. The thorny barbs Weston wraps around himself can't keep me away.

But the more time I spend with these men, the more tangled and confused my emotions become. When they both sign up for the Army Reserves during a time of increasing strife in the Middle East, I fear I'll never unravel my own heart that sometimes feels as if it will tear straight down the middle...for both of them.

Contains mature themes.

Wrecked Again

Whyyyyy do I subject myself to the personal victimization that is Emma Scott?!?! Whyyy… not sure any other book can come close to Full Tilt but this book will wreck you nonetheless 😭😭 love the narrators as well! I’ve been mad for about 90% of this book… on to #2. LISTEN OR READ IT PEOPLE!!! It’s worth it.

Weston is a dirty dog!!🫣

Weston had plenty of opportunities to express his true feelings, but he chose to lie & sneak to act on his feelings. Connor was way to trusting, which led to his betrayal. And Autumn was always in la-la-land, and self-righteous. Towards the end, they tried to blame it on the alcohol...yea right 🙄. Ruby was prob the most real, she should've hooked up with Connor. Weston & Autumn were selfish....dirty dogs!

Wish it ended differently.

The narration was perfect. Well developed characters who fall in love with the same girl. I loved Wes’s character and how people did not know the real him. Well worth a credit.

So beautiful

Such a beautiful story with a classic romance vibe . If you are looking for an angsty, related, secretly in love kind of story search no more . This book will put you through all the emotions. ‼️ It ends on a cliff hanger . Cant wait to listen to the next one

Ugly cried at the end

This duet was a heartbreaker. Rollercoaster of so many feelings and emotions. Haven’t ugly cried like that over a story since Beaches. But the story was beautiful and happy in so many ways. One of the best written stories I’ve ever read in terms of characters and description of scenes.

Touched all of the heart strings and left all kinds of feelings behind. Make sure you get both duet books before you start cause you will be crying at the end and will have to immediately go to the 2nd book or you won’t be able to move on in your life!

Heart Mulcher

Emma is a sure shot heart mulcher with her words. Her books are always steeped with loss and heartache, stewed in sweetness of first time tender touches and there's always a poetic rendition of sentiments for good measure. I know what I'm getting into.. THE most memorable journeys that shall resonate with me for all time. She reads loneliness and abandonment like a pro, her acute sense of detailing dejection and misery makes her one of the TOP angsty writers of our times. How she created Weston the "Sock Boy" who's been left behind by a fleeing father. As he ran behind his taxicab, his chase starts at that exact point. With only fumes and dust in his face and a sock in his hand are all the seven year of boy receives in the afterdraft as inheritance. He's never stopped running since. From his conscience, his peers, his bullies, his heart. His legs pump on the track but his destination is invisible and undefined. His back bowed with extreme kindness and generosity of his best buddy Connors family, who've rescued Weston family a million times and to repay them he joins the army reserves after Connor, to watch his back In between he becomes a soul for Connors charming shell and merged together they win over a beautiful red headed girl- Autumn. "You’re the Halley’s Comet of girls. The kind that doesn’t come around but maybe once in a life. I don’t want to spend the rest of mine wondering what might’ve been if I hadn’t tried, one last time, to take you someplace where every man will stare at you, and wish they were me. " It annihilated me with its poignant unrequited love. Tears flowed freely from my eyes and my heart felt a pain it had forgotten many books ago. The trio of friends kept sacrificing for each other drowning them all in abject despair. The narration was so good, Esp the female narrator, she brought life to the words and I could feel all the throat clogging emotions in her voice, heightening the anguish tenfold.
