About this listen

Toby

Is it wrong to be attracted to the groom in a wedding? Or, I thought he was the groom! No, this guy is open and single and...into me? Is he into me?

He'd be the first for quite some time.

I have to admit, seeing all these weddings come and go can be a bit much when you go home all by yourself. But is it ethical to date a client's brother?

Hunter

He's such a snob, but I guess he's no worse than my sister. I'm always the one shoved around by everyone - but even him?

At least he understands when it's a case of mistaken identity. I certainly never said I was marrying my sister. That would be one screwed up situation, and besides, I'm not much for women anyway.

Still, I've never met quite anyone like him. He's seen so much love, but he doesn't have any for himself. I wouldn't mind changing that.

This mistaken identity book is steaming hot and ready for your eager ears. With no cheating and a HEA, you won't want to put this one down. Just make sure you are an adult, as this one is spicy!

The storyline was ok!

This was an okay story. I was kind of surprised and a bit turned off with one of the MC’s, Hunter. I guess, going in, I wasn’t expecting him to be so spineless. I mean yeah, his sister was a total bridezilla. But I don’t think any sibling would have that deep of a fear about speaking their minds. Overall, the book seemed a little one dimension. There wasn’t very much depth.

Now, the nasties are out of the way. I did enjoy the storyline and I think with a bit more tweaking on the authors part, it could turn into an incredible book. The angst was very low, which is always a plus for me, and it was just a sweet read. Which I love. (Give me all of the sugar)

The narrator, Randi Johnson…

First and foremost, let’s just talk about his voice. He has a nice, smooth, sexy, and vibrant voice. I think he could sit and read me an encyclopedia and I wouldn’t get bored. It was hard at times to distinguish between characters because the tone, or volume was the same as the one before. But it wasn’t to the point that it bothered me. I don’t think his voice worked perfectly for this book. But I also believe that’s because of the characters themselves. Randi’s voice was so strong and sure, and those characters were just not.

Great read

I loved this. A hea ending for the wedding planner was fun, entertaining, and slow burn steamy goodness. I enjoyed Toby and Hunter's journey. Sweetest ending. The narrator was awesome and added immeasurably to the experience.

A Fun Lighthearted Listen with Steam

I enjoyed listening to this book despite being annoyed with one of the main characters. The wonderful romance between Toby and Hunter was very sweet and nice, with some steam to heat it up here and there. However, Julia I could do without! She was such a brat throughout the book and really annoyed me. The narrator, Randi Johnson, did a wonderful job. My only criticism on his narration would be making the voices (both male and female) a bit more distinctive. Overall, this is a really fun listen and I would recommend it to my friends.

Enjoyable Listen

The story is good and easy to listen to. I was rooting for the main characters and wanting Hunter's sister to grow up and not be so rude. Luckily it all turned out good in the end.

Entertaining story

I enjoyed this audiobook overall, although Hunter's character struck me as spineless and weak through much of the story. I loved Toby, and thought Hunter should have stood up for him, and for himself as well. Toby was very sweet and understanding, but I cheered for him when he drew the line with Hunter and Julia, standing up for himself even though he knew it would probably mean a loss of business. Julia was horrible, but I was angrier at Hunter for letting her behave that way. She was surrounded by enablers, so it was no surprise that she behaved like a spoiled brat. A lot of growth was necessary for a HEA on this one. The narrator has a strong, even delivery, but it was a little hard for me to feel the love between Toby and Hunter because the narrator was almost too lively and upbeat. The tone didn't change enough for the sexy times or dramatic times to make them believable to me. Still an enjoyable listen overall.

Change 'cause you want it and not for someone else

I received this audiobook from the narrator, who is fantastic, in exchange for my unbiased opinion how about this audiobook.

This is my third Randi Johnson book that he has narrated. I have listened to previous J.P. Oliver books previously so I have a general idea of what I'm getting into. This time all I can say is Randi Johnson made me believe that Toby and Hunter are in this relationship. There are times when a narrator doesn't make me believe that the main characters are together or they have a connection or that they are meant to be however Mr. Johnson sold me on this tale.

I enjoyed Toby and I've enjoyed Hunter. I do not believe that they are meant to be however. Yes, they got into arguments just like normal couples do however the way that Hunter was written I cannot see him being good for Toby. Hunter came across as someone who is not only a pushover but does not believe in himself. I do understand that he is a closeted gay and that he is the Yes Man in his family however the fact that it took losing Toby for him to grow a backbone didn't seem realistic to me. If losing somebody you care about is the catalyst to accepting who you are I don't see that relationship lasting long.

Toby isn't a saint either however his issues are miniscule compared to Hunter's. Toby is afraid of being in a relationship so he just runs. He self sabotages and he blames his partners for the reason why they are no longer together. I'm not saying that Hunter is the bad person within this book I'm just saying that Hunter changing because of a person aside from changing because he personally felt he wanted to is not okay.

Cute story

This is another great story by J.P. Oliver with well-developed characters. Toby is a wedding planner and assumed that Hunter the brother of the bride is the groom. I loved the miss understanding which was a case of mistaken identity. I felt the chemistry between Toby and Hunter. The narration was very well done

Really enjoyed the story and narration

The story is well paced, humourous, low angst and sweet. Toby, a wedding planner, mistakes the bride-to-be's brother for the groom. Hunter, (bride's brother) can't understand why Toby finds his flirtation inappropriate. The mistake gets resolved fairly soon, which I liked. Hunter is also somewhat closeted (which I didn't like), but that gets worked out in the end.
Randi Johnson did a really good job with the narration. I felt he *told* the story, adding enough inflection (humour, worry, irritation) to make listening a pleasure. He didn't try to *act* as the characters, instead he performed as the storyteller, which works if the voice and cadence are right (and they were).
I was gifted a copy without any expectations for a review. my opinions are mine and without bias.

Wedding mix Up

This is a great little love story, a case of mistaken identity and a Bridzilla. Toby is trying so hard to make his company the best wedding planning company ever.. When he clears his calander for a very wealthy bride and groom, he learns the hard way how unpredictable a bride can be. Toss in the fact he thinks he's in lust for the groom and it's mayhem.
The bright spot is finding out the sexy man he thinks is straight and getting married, is actually the bride's brother Hunter, helping with the wedding plans. While they jet across countries to find the most exotic and expensive place for a wedding, Hunter and Toby fall in love. After a big bride 'bitch' session, Toby sees red and ends up getting fired. Now how are he and Hunter, who sat by and watch it happen, ever get their HEA.
This is a must read/listen for anyone who likes great, funny, happy, MM stories. The story is well written and the narrator is fairly good. He's not my favorite but right up there with the best.

Cute story

This was just okay the story was cute and short. The characters was described well but honestly the narrator was very animated not sexy. Did a good just but not for romance. It was just a light story not very sexy
