About this listen
The golden skies, the translucent twilight, the white nights all hold the promise of youth, of love, of eternal renewal. The war has not yet touched this city of fallen grandeur or the lives of two sisters, Tatiana and Dasha Metanova, who share a single room in a cramped apartment with their brother and parents. Their world is turned upside down when Hitler's armies attack Russia and begin their unstoppable blitz to Leningrad.
Yet there is light in the darkness. Tatiana meets Alexander, a brave young officer in the Red Army. Strong and self-confident yet guarding a mysterious and troubled past, he is drawn to Tatiana - and she to him. Starvation, desperation, and fear soon grip their city during the terrible winter of the merciless German siege. Tatiana and Alexander's impossible love threatens to tear the Metanova family apart and expose the dangerous secret Alexander so carefully protects - a secret as devastating as the war itself - as the lovers are swept up in the brutal tides that will change the world and their lives forever.

Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Story
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Story
Anthony Opoka and Florence Okori are coming of age in Uganda in the 1990s. Outstanding students, they believe in being good humans before they are kidnapped and forced into the fanatical Lord’s Resistance Army. In a legion of young recruits, no one gets closer than Anthony to powerful messianic warlord Joseph Kony and his darkest secrets. To stay sane as he spirals through chaos, Anthony clings to his childhood lessons about being a good human. Florence’s upbringing grounds her, too, helping her keep her dreams alive even as she’s pulled deeper into the insanity of Kony’s war.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook to a friend. This story has history, action, intrigue, true love, and the narrator did an excellent job reading. I have a hard time listening to women narrators, so I pick stories that have male narrators, Not all male narrators I like, just fyi. What other book might you compare The Bronze Horseman to and why?
I would compare The Bronze Horseman to Diana Gabaldon's book Outlander. What about James Langton’s performance did you like?
I loved James Langton's performance. The voices that James uses made me think I was actually listening to the other characters in the book. I hope he narrates the other books in The Bronze Horseman series. I also love to listen to Steve West. I have listened to this book at least 5 times already.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed and cried. Oh and I did a lot of yelling!! Very intense!!Any additional comments?
Please do the other Bronze Horseman books in Audible!!! Please!!!!!!!!!Russia's inhumanity

Breathtaking love story and more! What other book might you compare The Bronze Horseman to and why?
Outlander because both are against all odds, timeless, love stories. Well written. Author makes you feel the story and love the characters.Have you listened to any of James Langton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to James Langton's other performances but I thought he did a wonderful job on this. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It is a long audio book but I did get through it in a week.Any additional comments?
Could not recommend this book more. I am disappointed that books 2 and 3 are not available from audible. I have to finish the series!2nd best book of all time!
