Publisher's summary

Undercover - it can be a nasty business. Constantly meeting new people is always interesting. Realizing that you may need to send them to prison - or kill them - adds a whole different flavor.

Rob Anderson knows his job. And he loves his work. It’s all he has, really. No family to speak of. No "significant other" - though many "insignificant others" tend to come and go. Rob likes it like that. No baggage. Great memories. Not-so-great memories. All part of the tapestry that makes up the life of Rob Anderson. A former US Army Ranger and special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Rob lives for the thrill of the work - the intrigue, the suspense - and the adrenaline associated with knowing one wrong word or move could cost him everything - including his life.

And so it almost did, in post-Katrina New Orleans, because of his dogged determination to solve a 25-year-old cold case.

Outstanding Listen

On his first foray into the world of fiction, Mr. Minyard has outdone himself. The latter part of this story, set during the response and recovery period following hurricane Katrina brought back many memories of my time there during the same period. The detail he provides was spot on. Great story!

Kept my attention right to the end

Well done. Especially like the firearm & martial arts detail, and insight to drug smuggling. Looking forward to the sequel!

Great first effort

Ed Minyard tells a tale that stretches across 25 years and thousands of miles as he follows the career arc of the protagonist, Rob Anderson. It is Anderson’s integrity, calm and persistence versus the evil and corruption of the bad guys. His ability to deliver violence as necessary certainly exceeds that of the, much to the glee of this reader, though it is ho-hum to Anderson, who is well in touch with his capabilities.

The story is based upon a real life unsolved double murder and weaves in post-Katrina New Orleans, and sketchy actors in positions of public trust.

This reads like a very personal story, and one senses that a walk down a dark alley with Mr. Minyard at your side would feel very safe indeed. Give it a listen!
