About this listen

The delightful New York Times best-selling mystery series continues with "another winner" (Austin American-Statesman)!

In this latest installment, prize-winning reporter Jim Qwilleran—along with his lovable Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum—solves a mystery that arises when a local banker dies under suspicious circumstances, leaving behind a flashy young widow, an unfinished house-restoration project, and a trail of clues as elusive as a cat burglar in the night....

Foolish Thief

Don't you wish it was as easy as the cat said it was so. Well it is relax, lay back and let the cats figure it out. Enjoy

good book

the lead character is slow in this book. it should have been figured out before the second murder, but no such luck. the narrator brought the characters to life. book is recommended for adults young and old.

Cats, action and mystery all packed into one book

A great way to relax and think and enjoy at the same time a fantastic narrator, and of course a fantastic story

Excellent story and performance!!

I have loved this series from the time I was ten. A few times the recording’s sound quality takes a turn for the worse, like an old cassette tape played too many times. It jumps back to higher quality within a few moments.

I really enjoy this performer, as he brings the characters to full life.

Oddly Remastered

Would you listen to another book narrated by George Guidall?

I adore anything narrated by George Guidall and will sometimes pick something just because he's the narrator (though it was a bit odd to hear him to American Gods) however, the remastered version of this audiobook is a bit inconsistent. Every so often it switches from sounding clear and great to being really muffled. Not a huge deal, but a bit annoying.

Any additional comments?

I love the "Cat Who" books and really look forward to listening to more - hopefully audible gets them all eventually.

if you like the news from lake wobegon, try

clearly audio tapes transfered to digital. there were a couple of garbled moments. sound quality ok overall. if you like garrison keiler or stories about small towns in the north woods, you might like this. Starts slow, but builds intrigue.
