About this listen

Traditional Qabalistic sources (or Cabalistic, or, indeed, Kabbalistic - listen to this book to find out what the difference is...we know you've always wondered!) tend to be a bit, er, dry. Lon Milo DuQuette spices up the Qabalah and makes it come alive, restoring the joy of learning the fundamentals of this admittedly arcane system by using simple, amusing anecdotes and metaphors. This account, written pseudepigraphically (fictitiously attributed to a supposed authority), allows DuQuette as Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford to soar to outrageous heights and, when necessary, stand apart from the silliness to highlight the golden eggs of Qabalistic wisdom nested therein. Sure to be a revelation to those who think that learning about the Qabalah needs to be tedious and serious, The Chicken Qabalah of Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford shows that great truths can be transmitted through the medium of laughter.

Audible Performance is Excellent

I have been waiting for this book to come out in audible format for some time. It’s great to hear how the Hebrew words are pronounced. I read along with the book and came to a greater understanding then reading just the book. Although Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford a character in the book repeatedly says not to worry about pronunciation it was extremely helpful to hear the Hebrew letters spoken!

Tienes que escuchar todo

La actuación es genial. Estoy seguro que lo volveré a escuchar. Solo las tablas aún no se donde se encuentran.

Great introduction to Qabalah

Qabalah can be intimidating and dry for beginners, especially those who don't speak Hebrew. But, understanding Qabalah is essential for anyone looking to understand Western esotericism or magickal practices. This book is an excellent introduction, and because it's written in a style that's funny and a bit irreverent it helps in disarming the complexities of the subject matter so that the student can stay engaged long enough to learn the basics of Qabalah before giving up in frustration. This book, is the best tool I have found to help the student get past the introductory phase of the basic tenants so that they can then discover the deeper, fascinating, and transcendent natural and spiritual truths contained within this ancient system. For anyone embarking on the path of self initiation who has found Qabalah too complex I encourage you to listen to this book, download the pdf documents that go with it and push through. It is so worth the time and effort.

Cheeky, profound, approachable

It’s rare to find a topic like this addressed in such a humorous manner, but still in a way that none of the depth is lost. Reminded me a bit of Christopher Moore’s, “The Gospel According to Biff.”

If you're trying to make sense of the Kabbalah...

I have been trying to make sense of the tree of life for about 4 years now. This book came highly suggested and finally allowed to get my head around what it is, how it relates to reality, and other esoteric concepts. The author is well suited to write on the subject. You will be educated and entertained.

Very informative.

Very well written. Does a good job of explaining the material in a practical way. Best book on Qabalah I have yet to encounter.
