About this listen

My instincts had always served me well. Listening to my gut, the warning voice in my head that told me when to walk away. I never failed to heed the signs.

Until the day she walked into my office.

I knew she would be trouble, but I ignored the alarm bells. And then it was too late, and I fell. Hard.

A lie tore us apart, and I thought I’d lost her forever. But now she’s back- with a secret she’s been keeping.

This time, I’m not letting her go.

Outstanding story and narration

It’s no secret if you have followed any of my reviews that I’m not a huge fan of Mafia or dark romance stories, but Melanie Moreland turned my opinion right around with this Men Of Hidden Justice series. Book three in the series The Commander was everything I was expecting and so much more. I loved the first two books but Julian Grayson and Taliyah (Tally) Wells surpassed even these.

The Commander was suspenseful, romantic, emotional, passionate, riveting and I was hooked from the first to the last chapter. It was extremely well written with characters whose story you cannot help but quickly become invested in.

Once again John Lane and Maxine Mitchell did a stellar job with their narration. Their voices are easy to listen to and I found myself riveted to the story as I listened.

To say their journey was rocky is an understatement and at times I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading. The chemistry and heat that sizzles between Julian and Tally was electric.

There were times that my heart broke for the pain and loss of connection between Julian and Tally and was hoping that they could come to terms with the past and rediscover the passionate love that they share. Julian was such a protective man who cannot believe how in love he is with Tally and that part of the story made me smile, Tally gave him the love and support to offer his heart..

I loved this book, it is my favourite of the three and happily recommend you one click, you won’t be disappointed.

a lovely romance with a heartwarming HEA

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The story with a heartbreaking beginning takes us through what feels like a love of a lifetime. This was my first John Lane listen and he adds depth the story, but Maxine Mitchell had a special way of making you feel like your right there with the couple.

Absolutely incredible!

This series has been amazing......and I can't imagine a world where Melanie Moreland didn't write a book for Julian, because holy smokes - this story was incredible!! From the beginning to the very last word, I just devoured Julian and Tally's story. And listening to John Lane and Maxine Mitchell's narration - it was incredible!! I loved how protective and dominant Julian was - John nailed that part of Julian's character perfectly! He truly believed what he was doing was in Tally's best interest, which did mean hiding things from her. But knowing what she had gone through in her past, all he wanted to do was keep her safe. It obviously took some time for her to truly understand that, as evidenced by her keeping a huge secret from him too. But, oh my goodness......seeing Julian once he discovers her secret......swoon. This guy, I adore him.

Truly, if you haven't picked up this series.....you really need to. It's so good - you won't regret it!

Riveting!

John Lane and Maxine Mitchell has once again proven to me why they are my favourite narrator duo. They had me so riveted by their performance. I couldn’t get enough. I didn’t know to speed it up to get to the end or to slow it down to fully appreciate John Lane’s rich voice and Maxine Mitchell’s sweet sound. They harmonize beautifully and reading as Julian and Tally just made this audiobook that much more phenomenal.

Love this series

The Commander the 3rd in the Hidden Justice series is Julian’s story.
Julian is the Commander of the group Hidden Justice, a group of men that rids the world of groups that prey on women and children
Needing a new secretary he hires Taliyah going against his norm that’ll change his life forever.
Taliyah takes the job so she can work toward her life goal.
When past and future collide it’ll take a lot for Julian to repair the damage that secrets have created and for him to get the family that he didn’t know he had.
This is the third in a series of standalone books and I loved each of them.
As always the narrators have done a fantastic job

Job well done!

I will start by saying I am not a fan of instalove so therefore this audio was never going to be 5 stars for me. But with that said, I did thoroughly enjoy this book. Julian is the leader of the Hidden Justice. He starts off very serious but his entire world is changed when he meets Tally. Tally brought so much lightness and laughter to his dark world. Their love story is quick and they soon are married until things come crashing down and we fast forward a few months. When Julian finds Tally again with a child he is determined to do whatever it takes to get his wife back. He is willing to change his whole world because he loves this woman so much.

The audio of this book made the story slightly more entertaining for me. John Lane was the absolute perfect narrator for Julian. He brought the character to life. Maxine is new to me but I think she pulled off a very good Tally. They both were easy to listen to and hard to get distracted away from the story (which I tend to do when listening to audio).

Tally and Julian

This was Julian, the Commander's story. We learn more about Julian, the calm efficient leader of Hidden Justice, and the organization. Julian's administrative assistant leaves and he ends up hiring a beautiful young woman, who has some issues of her own (in the past, he only hired very mature women). Julian is bitten by the love bug almost as soon as he sees her. Tally likes that the job is in a very secure building and we find out why. This was a nice romance between them but I found Tally annoying at times. Although this book was good, for me, it was not as good as the previous two books. John Lane and Maxine Mitchell did a great job with the narration.
