About this listen

Sequel to A Destiny of Dragons

Sam of Wilds faced the Dark wizard Myrin and lived to tell the tale. Granted, the battle left him scarred, but things could be a hell of a lot worse.

It’s not until he reunites with Morgan of Shadows and Randall that he realizes just how much worse things could be.

Because the scars have meaning and hint at Myrin’s true plans for Sam and the Kingdom of Verania.

With time running out, Sam and his band of merry misfits - the unicorn Gary, the half-giant Tiggy, Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart, and the dragon known as Kevin - must travel to the snowy mountains in the North and the heart of the Dark Woods to convince the remaining dragons to stand against Myrin. Along the way, Sam learns secrets of the past that will forever change the course of the future.

A reckoning is coming for Sam of Wilds, and there is nothing he can do to stop it.

Sam, Ryan, Tiggy and Gary......and Kevin continue their battle against the forces of evil.

Just like the first two books in this series, this one is funny, heart warming, frustrating and so well written. During the first book, I laughed and laughed and laughed. During this one I laughed and laughed and cried. Each book tackles very serious and emotional issues with humor and ridiculous characters and situations. However, this one was much darker and very heart wrenching.

Sam, a wizard's apprentice, is trying to thwart his destiny and save everyone he cares about. He is the most accepting and loving character I have ever read. He loves unicorns, dragons, giants, arrogant princes and even madams. But he can't save everyone. In this book he has to face some harsh realities and do a bit of maturing.

Without giving away spoilers, I will say this book is worth the read. But please read the other two first, or this one won't make sense.

The adventure continues....

Now I have to wait for the next book to come out. It's gonna be so hard to be patient! But at least I was able to read these 3 straight through. Totally worth. And the narrator, Michael Lesley, has to be my new favorite ever after hearing him bring these books to life.

I want so many more people to read this

I usually read a book before I listen to the audio but I needed something to listen to and this series has received glowing recommendations, so I decided to give it a try. A-MAZ-ING. The narrator took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. This wasn't just a story, it was a performance. However, without the authors brilliance in writing the story the narration would not have been as good as it was. This is a series I will turn to in times when I need a good cry, or a belly laugh out loud. I cannot say enough about the collaboration of the author and narrator other than it is one of the best listens in long, long time.

I never give a 5 star

Absolutely loved this book and I have not been able to stop listening to the whole series back to back. Amazing characters, storyline, and narrating. Obsessed with all the lgbtq+ characters. Highly highly recommend!

Can’t say enough good things about this series

This is where things get turned up to a million. you will laugh, and you will cry harder. Assuming that you've read the previous two books, the story gets launched into extreme intensity here. There is a lot of hardship coming and some bitter truths that are realized as Sam takes an unwanted step into a future he never asked for.

This is hands down my favorite book series ever! Not only is it so damn funny but it is also a heartfelt damn good story! I can’t wait for A Wish Upon the Stars.....but I don’t want the adventures to end. I love Sam of Wilds and his best friends 5 ever!!!!

No matter how many times I read/listen to this series, I swear it gets better every single time. To put into simple words, I owe my life to TJ Klune for creating this world and these characters.

Please Read This

The depth of craftsmanship from both Klune and Lesley has increased exponentially across each installment in the series. There's so much nuance to each character now that you can easily visualize each scene like a movie playing in your head. I could only with upon the stars that this series was actually animated!

It only gets better!
