Can Nicole learn to be enough of a lady to snag the handsome rancher?

Washington State, 1893.

Nicole Waterby has lived her whole life in the hills away from town due to her grandfather’s mistrust of people. But now he’s passed away, and Nicole is left to care for her two younger cousins. Feeling inadequate to handle the responsibility, she heads down the mountain to fetch herself a husband. She doesn’t realize women don’t wear trousers, buckskins, or carry a gun. She has a lot to learn about being a lady if she’s going to catch a husband. And the quilting circle is just the group of women to help her.

Rancher Shane Keegan has drifted from one location to another to find a place to belong. He longs to have a family of his own but feels doomed to live a life alone. When Nicole crosses his path, he wonders if he can have love, but he soon realizes she’s destined for someone better than a saddle tramp. Even though he knows there’s no future for him with the intriguing mountain girl, he still steps in to help her at every opportunity.

Will love stand a chance while both Nicole and Shane try to be people they are not?

WONDERFUL STORY

I have just finished listening to The Damsel’s Intent and it was such a wonderful story! Mary Davis took me back in time with such well written characters. I laughed and cried with each of them. I loved Shane’s character from a previous book and I am so glad that he found his match in Nicole. Her spunky, caring and honest look at life is so refreshing to read. Pamela Gregory also brought the story to life with her sweet narration. I don’t give away spoilers, so you will have to listen to it for yourself. This is definitely a book that deserves 5 stars! I am looking forward to more books by this talented author.

A Light American 1890's Western Romance

"The Damsel's Intent" by Mary Davis
Yes, I loved this story. It is a delightful sweet clean story of a sheltered mountain girl. Her first venture into town, and then the adventure(s) truly begins. The narrators voice had me picturing Nichol much like a Debbie Reynolds in a Tammy movie. This story is part of series but can be thoroughly enjoyed as a stand-a-lone read.
Happy Reading ! !

The Damsel's Intent

I was invited by the author to review this book. If I really enjoy a book I will listen to it several times. I have already heard it 3 times. I enjoyed the author and narrator. The book had a great plot, setting, and the content was sweet, non-sexual which I enjoyed. The plot of the story kept moving forward and kept me engaged. I love books with setting in the late 1800's to early 1900's. Super Duper great book, worth the price.
