Publisher's summary

Forced to his knees in agony whenever he speaks the truth, Gideon can recognize any lie--until he captures Scarlet, a demon-possessed immortal who claims to be his long-lost wife. He doesn't remember the beautiful female, much less wedding - or bedding - her. But he wants to...almost as much as he wants her.

But Scarlet is a keeper of nightmares too dangerous to roam free. A future with her might mean ultimate ruin, especially as Gideon's enemies draw closer - and the truth threatens to destroy all he's come to love.

I won't lie to you, she's a girl.

Another great addition to the LOTU series. Although I will admit I wasn't as engrossed in this story as much as the other ones. There was maybe a few too many side stories from other points of views going on for me to really get involved in the love story. With that said it is still really good if you are committed to the series, which defiantly need to be read in order. I did like the second half better than the first half. I personally would like to see the story of Torin.

Gideon is such a sweetie

What did you love best about The Darkest Lie?

I love that Gideon and Scarlett figure out their relationship. I also like seeing the depth of feelings Gideon has for Scarlett and tries everything he can to help her.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gideon is one of my favorites. I find the character very touching and he get so upset that he can't tell others how he really feels about them without pain. He is one of the Lords that will give his life for another.

What does Max Bellmore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Max Bellmore makes the story better than in book form. There are only 2 other series that I just have the audiobooks because the narrator make the story wonderful to listen to. The other two are Jeannie Frost, Cat and Bones, and Charlaine Harris, Sookie Stackhouse.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The most moving moment is when Gideon was told that he had a son and that he died at the hand of Zeus. He was in such sorrow, not only because he couldn't remember him, but that the God that he admired killed his son. Even after he found out it wasn't true, he still felt sorrow that he didn't have a son after all.

Heartbreaking but Amazing

This story tugged at my Heartstrings! Scarlett and Gideon's story was amazing! I can't wait for their story to continue on other books, even if just a glance in their world!

I HATE GIDEON AND SCARLETT!! LOL

Would you consider the audio edition of The Darkest Lie to be better than the print version?

Always is....but I only listened!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gideon...he is so sweet...the dirty little liar!!! lol

What about Max Bellmore’s performance did you like?

He nailed it as always!!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The part about Steele and the memories..so so sad!!!

Any additional comments?

I really love Gideon, he has a hard time, can you imagine never being able to tell the truth or else you suffered in pain? My heart went out to Gideon and Scarlett time and time again..and I am so glad they ended up together as they should be...I am on to book 7!!!

I DIDN'T love how HILARIOUS this was!

Gideon... I Hate You! My goodness. Each book keeps getting better and better! Just because Gideon is.. well Gideon it makes for great comedy. Aerons book had that as well. Great story and performance overall! And the plot thickens with the overarching storyline! On to the Next!

Love this series! Have listened multiple times.

Because of this series, Gena Showalter is a must read for me. Damaged alpha males, romantic story lines, humor and lots of action. I am a happy listener.
