About this listen

A Cado Ezechiar Audiobook

The Hollow King's hunt for vengeance brings him to Lethis, the capital city of the Realm of Death, as he finds himself caught in a war of deception.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Follow the legendary Soulblight Gravelords vampire Cado Ezechiar as he continues his hunt for vengeance. How will the Hollow King cope when he finds himself stuck between Neferata, the Mortarch of Blood, and Mannfrred, the Mortarch of Night?

THE STORY

Cado Ezechiar, the Hollow King, once watched as his kingdom burned and his family were butchered. His endless hunt for the Chaos cult responsible – the mysterious Burning Hand – has led him all over Shyish, and now finally brings him to Lethis, capital city of the Realm of Death. But as he closes in on his quarry, and the shadowy metropolis that harbours them, old debts emerge from the gloom.

Pressed back into the service of Neferata, Cado is sent to the kingdom of Calyx, where the queen’s thralls are mired in conflict with Mannfred Von Carstein. There, he finds himself caught up in a war of deception, and soon faces a terrible choice: leave Calyx and its people to drown in the crimson tides of war, or defy the Queen of Blood.

Great sequel

I found this book (and the narrator) to be very engaging and a great follow-up for the Hollow King's story. There are a variety of good twists and I felt like the book did a good job of keeping me hooked the whole time. The ending was great as well and sets up a possible third book nicely. Definitely reccomend this series for anyone interested in Age of Sigmar's vampires.

AoS needs more novels like this.

These character development novels are what AoS needs to continue to grow and expand. Itwas very enjoyable.

An Exciting Continuation of the Series.

The writer does a wonderful job continuing the narrative from the previous story while offering a fresh take. The new companions, the development of a world run by vampires, and the intense subterfuge are very well written. I truly enjoyed the story overall. My only complaint is with the voice actor's portrayal of Nepherata. She is the queen of vampires, but he makes her and every female character sound unserious. Other than that his performance was very compelling and entertaining.

Bland story

Loved the first book but this one felt extremely rushed. Forgettable supporting cast with a few giant plot holes. Worst of all, Manfred doesn't even make an appearance. The whole story felt like a side quest.
