Your Survival Guide to the Hades of Wall Street

The Devil's Financial Dictionary skewers the plutocrats and bureaucrats who gave us exploding mortgages, freakish risks, and banks too big to fail. And it distills the complexities, absurdities, and pomposities of Wall Street into plain truths and aphorisms anyone can understand. An indispensable survival guide to the hostile wilderness of today's financial markets, The Devil's Financial Dictionary delivers practical insights with a scorpion's sting. It cuts through the fads and fakery of Wall Street and clears a safe path for investors between euphoria and despair. Staying out of financial purgatory has never been this fun.

Too much fun for such dismal topics!

This is a remarkable package. Consumer street-smarts are here (the poor overused phrase "must read" springs to mind for the first time ever for me, and hopefully last), plus all sorts of scintillating history tidbits are packed in, and other financial topics you might not know you wanted to learn about. It's all wrapped in fine humor. This book stands alone for me (and I've plodded through hundreds in this general field). Suddenly I realize: becoming well-informed on serious topics does not need to be dreary. No punches are pulled here. Ripoffs and fools are exposed in plain language. Do you really want to know how the crowned heads of financial services accomplish much of their skim from "the dumb money" in this economy? And who wouldn't, with the gullible throwing their money away again and again! This one will get the rare multiple listenings from me.

No value as an audio book

Such a dictionary should never have been narrated as an audio book. No benefit gained from listening to a boring regurgitation of book contents. Book was a compleye waste of money unfortunately.
