About this listen

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE novel…

Don’t say her name. That was the one rule my bandmates followed, because they knew how much it messed me up to think about her, especially on tour.

My ex, Nicole. The one who got away and the woman who still owned every piece of my heart. After our divorce, I threw myself into the rock scene, trying to forget my heartbreak.

Three years after we split, a phone call from Nicole changed everything. She told me her grandmother wasn’t doing well. Mimi was still family to me, and she apparently had one wish before dying: to spend time with us—Nicole and me. With Mimi’s caretaker away on vacation, it would be the ideal time for us to move in with her for a couple of weeks. Of course, I couldn’t refuse.

But there was a catch. Nicole apparently never told her that we’d gotten a divorce. She hadn’t believed Mimi could handle it, because her grandmother loved me so much. So, not only would I have to see Nicole again, but I’d be pretending to still be her husband.

Two weeks in a tiny house in a small town with the woman who broke my heart. Or was it me who broke hers? It was complicated. And it was about to be a heck of a lot more complicated sharing one bed in the guest room with a woman who wasn’t mine anymore.

Loved!

I’ve enjoyed this book and I’m a big Penelope Ward fan. Glad we got to hear the back story of Nicole and Atticus. I always like listening to Sebastian, but I cannot get behind the female narrator. She’s hard to listen to.

Loved the story line.

I didn’t enjoy the female voice. The different female character voices were forced and not very well done.

Loved the Storyline

Great 2nd book to the Rocker’s Muse. Loved the storyline and the love that the two main characters have for each other. Penelope Ward does not disappoint!!! Can’t wait for the next book/next story!

Wonderful Second Chance Story

I really enjoyed listening to this second chance story about true love and never forgetting the love they had for each other. Sebastian York and Angelina Rocca brought the story to life for me.

I laughed, I cried, I loved it!

Wow, what a special book. First of all, the cover guy was a perfect representation of Atticus, gorgeous. Penelope Ward is the queen of the slow burn, and this book took it to another level. Great pacing, even better character development, and an exceptionally hot "almost there..." scene. My only disappointment was that there was no delivery room scene for Atticus and Nicole; such a scene could have been so special because he had not had that experience previously and it would have been beautiful to see him have that 'mountaintop moment' with the love of his life. That seemed like a big ommission. Perhaps someday we'll see it in nonus content. I do love how Ms. Ward always weaves a truly engaging, interesting story.

Good story, terrible female voice

The female narrator’s voice really spoiled the book for me. It was raspy and had only one expression. I really don’t know how she got into audible book reading.
